I thought that was the coolest play when I first read about it. $5 to $1500. I can think back to many hands when that play probably would have played out. I cant remember many sessions where I have left up $1500. Things that make you go hmmm?

From my experience if your DP is on 4 and the 4 hits the next roll will be a 7out and take the rest if left out.
