Re: AN OVERLOOKED AND UNDERESTIMATED BET!

Yes, you prop bettors should come over here sometime to see how much longer your money may last, or alternatively really mess with your body clock and take a trip to Australia to find the same odds

Re: I don't know how a slot machine works, really.

That is an excellent reply on how the standard machines work shunkaha and has made it clearer in my mind about how things work. Is it also true that with the virtual reels they will plug in "near misses" so they come up much more often than expected, thus to keep those putting their money ...

Re: Betting the field martingale system

I cringe too when I hear Martingale as you are doing nothing other than dodging bullets before you lose your whole bank. Also, would you have the stomach to actually place that 7th bet, or 8th bet which is a four figure sum by this stage just to win your $25 or whatever? No doubt if you were on your...

Re: Which strategy would you prefer?

Just like to add too that I hate the thought of Martingale betting - ever increasing amounts just to get back the minimum of profits. You talk about discipline and I am sure there are those that dodge many bullets this way, recouping their small wins along the way - but what about the pressure when ...

Re: Do you ever hedge with a come bet?

OK thanks for the further explanation of the place/come/place bit.

I'm in agreement with hedging. Just don't like how you are effectively compounding the house edge against yourself in doing so.

Re: Do you ever hedge with a come bet?

Hi Irish do you have a link to where this "place to come to place strategy" is explained, or maybe a few more words, if not too onerous, on what it entails please?

OK, I knew you weren't on the seminar but just wondered if you happened to be at the tables at the IP at some stage over that time as I spent many hours playing there and wondered if we had been there at the same time.

Re: If you keep a log, what do you record in it?

Well how about the numbers you rolled, then in the long term you can see if you have an edge on certain numbers? Recording dealer tip amount is an interesting one. I know this is part of the game - an "expense" of playing. I wonder how much % of somebody's bankroll, or winnings, tips adds ...

Re: ??????????Do we see a pattern ??????????

Freak, in the trips you make I read you often come across known faces at the table. Does any of the data collected on them indicate any level of DI, or are these known faces just as random as throwing as the next person. Or I guess what I am saying is do you come across controlled throwers on your t...

Re: What do you do with your winnings after you leave?

Point 7 is an interesting one as you often see people doing this, not just in craps, but in many other forms of betting. I call it "chasing your wins" and in many respects it can be just as destructive to your betting bankroll as chasing your losses.

Re: How do I calculate my "advantage" for Kelly Criterion?

Dork- if you are recording box numbers with chips then surely it will be worthwhile having a small notebook with you and just total things up and write them down after each hand? This is what I have just started doing myself - not recording each roll by roll as I think I would find that too disrupti...

Re: In Support of the STEEP REDUCTION MANEUVER

He talks about this on page 84 of his book - though may version may be different to earlier editions. To mostly paraphrase: He had gone 10-15-25-35-50-75-125-175 on a hand that had 8 passes made. His next bet was 250 passline. Shooter rolled a natural so he parlayed to 500, then shooter rolled a cra...

Re: Is 20% win realistic?

So in reading recent replies to this thread, how do you all handle the tipping aspect? Does that come out of your buy-in or do you have a separate amount you use for dealers and waitresses? Mine always comes out of my buy-in and any win or loss will therefore be seen as net of this additional expend...

Nice summary Pradice and good usage of Lard Cock :D Do you, or others use a different set if you are shooting and are on the ATS? Re: Is 20% win realistic?

There's one part of the loss limit that I probably look at differently though. I base my loss limit on my entire bankroll not my session buy in. I'm not going to put money on the table I'm not willing to risk. For me it makes it easier mentally. It's a tough thing to buy in for $200 but only gamble...
