Plans on How to build a 12 pro craps table? Plans Needed

Post by VegasDiceController » Tue Dec 20, 2011 10:52 pm

About 1-1.5 yrs ago i purchased a set of "REAL" drawings to build a 12 foot table. Very detailed plans. I since had a pc issue where my son had to reformat my pc, about 6 months ago.. low and behold the plans have now gone bye bye.... I cant remember where i bought the E-File from in "PDF" from. so i am S.O.L. As a cabinet/millwork liscensed person, i know a set of real drawings when i see them. These were legit.

My question is, with all that said, does anyone know where I might of gone to buy these drawings.? or does anyone know of any other way to find these so called Pro craps table drawings? I looked back at some CC receipts but cant seem to find any clue to where, when i purchased them. I want to say the price was over a 'C' note....

thanks for feedback in advance...

Wow. I'm having flashbacks here.

Roadrunner put together a pretty good set MANY years ago. We used to have them available for download for free on a couple of different sites. Lord only knows what happened to them. Well, never fear. A former board member (from the good old days) put together a set that I have available for download over on the Crapsfest site still exists. Here's a link to the download. I don't know how good the plans are or whatever, but the price is right.

I have a website called crapsfest.com, where around 50 of my articles on craps are archived. There's also a download section there where you can pick up a copy of bonetracker and a precision shooting e-book at no charge. I used to have a forum affiliated with the site but the software was giving me major problems so I took it down and cranked this site up instead. Now we're going through the slow, arduous task of rebuilding the member base. Thanks for posting.

I think what you see is what you get on that. I don't think the plans were meant to be a definitive guide, although I've been told the plans are pretty good. Wish I had more to add. Maybe one of the other "handy guys" can chip in.

I'm about to "adjust" my table I got to set my practice rig up on by chopping down the height a bit. Right now it is 29" high I believe and it feels pretty dang tall to where it is quite uncomfortable to lean over my chip rail piece I have on it. I am only 5'5" but I don't remember it ever feeling like this at a casino. I want to chop the table legs down a bit and install screw type feet so that I can level it. I looked around for deck height from the ground on several plans. The plans on dicesetter.com called for a height of 24.5" + the rig base and the plans in this thread seem to indicate a height of 27". I thought I remember reading something about the correct height being 27-29". Anyone want to chime in with a definitive answer?

Yes you are correct! height is usually 29" the casino's play game's with deck height and chip rail height to mess you UP! higher chip rail height and lower deck and so forth
A fellow member here is only 5'2" he stands on a hard plastic pistol case and has no problems leaning over the chip rail during his toss which is a good toss/execution

Some tables are probably 29" but it seems higher at home than it is in the casino...

When you are practicing at home....especially if you notice an apparent height-difference between home and casino...is to make sure that you are wearing the same shoes at home as you wear in the casino.

If you wear different shoes, or even slippers when you practice at home; that may account for quite a difference in table-height/deck-height 'feel'. ;)

Just for the record - there's a difference in the distance from the floor to the BOTTOM of the deck as opposed to the TOP of the deck - generally about an inch and a half. So if it's 29 inches to the bottom of the deck it's 30.5" to the top of the deck.

Sounds good, thanks for the input. I think I'm going to target 27" felt to floor distance. The plans from dicesetter.com show 24.5" + 1.5" of plywood decking as heavy brought up. I'm going to add an inch to practice on a potentially more difficult environment, since apparently some are the full 29", but I have yet to experience anything that seems that tall at a casino yet (Although I haven't been to a ton by any means.)

Hi!

Just another idea but I use a black computer bag which is filled with a couple of pieces of hard foam wall insulation that was cut to fit. Depends on the bag you use but mine is about 2 1/2 inches high. I also have 1/4 inch plywood cut to fit in the bag just to give a little more stability. It has a handle and is very light weight to carry around.

The downside is that this is not normal and the casino staff know right away that I am a DI when I approach in this way. Most don't care but some do and use it as an excuse to have you leave the table. This is in Nevada and I have never used the bag in another State so not sure about the reception in AC, etc.

I am in the process of buying "lift" tennis shoes so I won't have to use the bag. Less of a dead give away if I use the shoes but the bag trick has worked well.
