Cheaters cheaters cheaters . . .

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

If there's a way to cheat - somebody will figure it out. Interesting reading from the Vegas Sun:

"The “cutter” scam that made the rounds in Macau in 2010 landed in Las Vegas in January. It worked like this: A cheater placed a miniature camera under his sleeve, then dragged a cut card over the top of a baccarat deck while using his index finger to slightly separate the cards from one another. The camera recorded the value and suit of each card, which the scammer compiled for a cheat sheet and transmitted to a group of accomplices."

Heavy;
I don't get it. The cards are taken out of the shuffler and cut with a card. How is a camera under ur sleeve an advantage? Do they hand shuffle over in Macau? Guess i'm way not sophisticated enough to cheat.

This is one of those things that needs a video, I guess. Work with me here since I don't have the set-up for it. In full blown Baccarat in the Asian markets after the shuffle the dealer presents the cards (lays them on the table but keeps her hand on them) and the cut card to one of the players. The player would take the cut card and - turning it so one of the corners faced the deck - put the corner on the top of the deck then drag or rake it slowly down the edges of the cards - using enough pressure to make the cards separate slightly during the drag. The camera up his sleeve recorded the value of the cards as they separated and accomplices elsewhere in the casino would fill out their cheat sheets - then head to the table to make their bets.

While he does not talk specifically about the cut process - some of you might be interested in this Bill Zender article on dealing Bac and Mini-Bac.

The last "Cheat" in that article was in regards to Electronic Roulette and included this statement:

"Other observant cheaters discovered that the ball and wheel on certain machines never changed speed, so they could track spins to uncover patterns."

Since when was uncovering a pattern and placing your money at risk under the Casino's rules cheating? Me thinks the author of this article relies heavily on casino $$ for rent...
