I'd take that. I'd RATHER have a $1000 cash, but what the heck. Run it through the machines one time. Cash after every hit. Take your stack of tickets to the redemption machine, cash them, then run like hell.

Well done BD. This came up before on a thread a while back, so worth opening up the question again. What do you do with $1000 free play. Shoot for the moon on a high denomination but high volatile play, try to play it through to neet as close to $1000 as poss or something in between?

I'd be doing Heavy's play above to harvest the winnings from running the freeplay through the machines one time. Not sure you need to cash out a ticket on every win, but rather keep track of how much of the freeplay you've run through while on a machine and cash out once at the end of each machine session before dipping into any winnings.

I like to cash out the winnings after every hit to avoid confusion regarding the number of free play credits remaining on the machine. Yeah, you can end up with thirty or forty tickets to feed into the ticket redemption machine. Hey, I've got time. I can wait.

Whenever I get anything like that I usually run the machine out of paper I cash out so often. It's usually $5 on a penny mach. I cash out for 10 cents, I don't care. If they don't like it they should have just gave me the 5 bucks in the first place.

That's what is nice about MGM properties freeplay. You need to start the machine with a nominal amount of cash enough to cover your credit play for one spin. The freeplay is tracked separately via the players card screen. It isn't added to the credit meter. You can see your starting freeplay balance and watch as the freeplay balance goes down to your stop point and then pull your players card out to turn it off. Anything on the credit meter is yours to take. You can move to another machine and repeat until all of your freeplay has been used.

I should add that using the freeplay requires you to input a personal code in order to access it, this way if you lose your card or forget it in a machine, no one else can access it.

In my instance, I mixed it up. Mathematically it would make sense to play the higher denom machines because they typically have a greater payout percentage. I'll cover more in my trip report, but suffice to say the big denom play didn't pan out for me, while a high volatility penny machine did. I'm pretty sure I was limited to a specific property's available machines (where I redeemed the fp) and their high limit selection wasn't the greatest (few five dollar, more ten and up denoms).
