Not sure that the topic of day trading fits into gaming..but the market has been called the great casino..so I thought I'd throw in some
little tidbits regarding how to find cheap stocks..I do penny up to five bucks and I trade futures..but back to stocks. First download Equity Feed. You can get a free 14 day trial. Equity Feed is without a doubt the greatest thing since sliced dice. You can set all kinds of parameters of what you want to look at. All stock news is live streaming. You can set up filters which show penny stocks or regular stocks getting new volume highs, new price highs instantly. At the same time download Lightspeed trading free on a demo. You can take the stocks you've found and set them up on the lightspeed platform and see the asks and bids changing on a level 1 screen..and see charts. Lightspeed has hot buttons and instantly triggers trades. Together these two downloads set you up for trading. The time to look is pre market. You can get in on equities early before the open..or you can set up your situation to jump in moments after the bell. You can find all this stuff on YouTube, but I thought I'd throw the info in here. I've been using these products for a little while now and have found them very nice. Also LightSpeed is based offshore and doesn't adhere to the pattern day trading rules of the SEC. You can trade several times a day and no problem. Also LightSpeed will give you 6 times margin which is better than any other trading company. I don't use it myself, but for those who like that. $500 becomes $3000. I am not getting paid by these companies.

I spent about 5 years swing trading - not flushing everything every day but trading on very short cycles. Usually no more than two weeks. Target was 2 - 3 days. Dabbled at it in a small way. Set aside $20K to open an account and that's about how much I profited fromit every year. $1500 - $2000 a month. Lots of volatile stuff - mining, oil patch, pharmaceutical development, and some precious metals (mostly gold) ETF's. That was when I had an office day-job and could spend hours a day staring at a computer screen between customers. When I went back on the road full time I put all that stuff on autopilot.

This Canada weed thing is just unbelievable, what a money making machine. Take a look at some of those stocks and it does not go live until October 17, 2018. The oils, infused drinks will be stronger than the weed this year and edibles will be available in 2019.

I don't think that's going to last, and it's too latea to get in on the ground floor. Someone I know was talking about buying some land in a weed-legal state anda growing organicly. I told her she was full of shit. She'd just smoke up the profits. Stoners as millionaires. Go figure.

Maybe this will help. After CA legalized pot:
A leader of California’s marijuana industry warned Wednesday that the state’s cannabis growers produce eight times the pot that is consumed in the state so some will face “painful” pressure to reduce crops under new state regulations that will ban exports after Jan. 1.
Oregon: Oregon now has 1,012 licensed growers, with another 956 in the process of obtaining licenses. All those growers in a state with just four million residents has resulted in a mountain of marijuana. Nearly one million pounds of usable flower remains unsold – about three times what consumers purchased in all of 2017. Prices of the recreational drug have plummeted, with dispensaries selling pre-rolled joints for $1, less than the price of a cigarette.

Ahh....nothing is like the the rigors of supply and demand. How long before the State governments start to subsidize the crops? A living wage for ganja growers anyone? Soon the crops will be up in smoke, nothing like destroying a crop to artificially impact supply. Weren't milk producers guilty of something like this sometime in the past?

Haven't played a pot stock yet. I just trade what the filters show me.Popping volume, price moving. Yesterday I had a good bio penny stock that did real good.

Yeah. QQQ is great for option trading. I do that often. You can trade the Qs every day in or out of the money. There is always a move. Bitcoin is off my radar. Too much money. I like cheap stuff that moves a lot.

I am a simple trader..puts and calls. I don't do the exotic spreads. If you like that sort of trading, go to YouTube for it. There are some pretty good videos covering all the exotic moves. I am basically a chart reader. When I see certain patterns forming in price on QQQ, I'll just use a put or call option near the money. That will move faster. I use a 5 minute chart.

Eventually the Q Q Q sales pitch was calling it some name like
the "P P O / A D X Squeeze " or something similar .

Being tighter than the bark on an oak tree , just elected to pass on the sales pitch.
All that stuff goes directly to my computers "Spam-a-gator "
rather than fork out 3 to 5 Grand $ U S D for
something seeming to smell like the breath of 1000 camels..
.
After taking time to check out of some You Tube samplings, may reconsider.
just me saying

Many of these stocks are paying a premium when you sell to open a put option. The constellation deal is huge for CGC and you hit it just right st 25$. I believe there is still a lot of money to be made on the Canadian weed stocks.

Once big tobbaco gets into weed these companies are toast. It won't happen in the near future but it will happen in the long run. Just my two cents. If you want to play this sector conservatively buy SMG, collect the dividend and wait for a run to dump it. Best of luck.

There is an etf symbol MJ (go figure) that holds a basket of these companies, and is a decent way to capitalize on the weed market without betting on individual companies.
