Lottery

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

Lottery: Does anybody have a method?
Thx in advance. Tgold

I found the following lottery story interesting. Three europeans bought 99% of possible number combos to profit 20 million from Texas lottery.

There are consortiums around the world that do similar things, both with lotteries and with (believe it or not) keno progressive bonuses in gaming markets like Las Vegas. With Keno they do essentially the same thing as with lotto, they buy every possible combination of numbers when the bonus jackpot gets to a level sufficient to provide a profit. The PROBLEM with this is that these large "jackpots" attract multiple groups with the same approach, so they end up with multiple winners splitting the jackpot. If that happens it's quite possible that the winners will spend two to three times as much on tickets as they'll win on the bonus. Surprise Surprise Surprise.

Thx Heavy for your reply. I agree with your theory.
Heavy up above:

I know a group of business owners in Ft Smith, Ar that use to monitor the Oaklawn horses Pick6 carryover. This was many years ago before all the simulcast/online racing sites. If it reached a certain level they would each contribute a few thousand for the number of tickets they had calculated would provide the greatest potential vs risk. Then one of them would travel to place bets at Oaklawn. They did well with their approach. Like you mentioned above the trick was to NOT have to share with other winners that may have only purchased one wager.

In the original article I found the following interesting as I was not aware of such an option.

"...In March, a woman in Texas who did not match a single number still won a $250,000 lottery jackpot, KXAN reported at the time.

“Texas Lottery’s ‘All or Nothing’ game gives customers a chance to win by matching all 12 numbers drawn, or none at all. The odds of winning either way are 1 in 2,704,156,..."
