ATS question

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

ATS question

Post by Lax26 » Sun Dec 29, 2024 11:23 pm

$15 table
ATS is a $5 each minimum bet
Is it common practice for a casino to make the player have a pass line bet to play this bonus bet?
I generally make place bets and was told that even if I had a working place bet on the come out I still could not play the ATS.
Just wondering if that was on the level
Thanks

It's a very common requirement, yes. Another downside of that bet. Makes an even stronger case for why you shouldn't be betting the ATS on every shooter.

Very common around here. I typically only play it on myself only, but if the table is hot and fun, I'll chance a few shooters. I also play for the dealers when I play. I make my pass line bet big enough to cover any come loss on the ATS. I need to find a set that will roll boxcars. It is usually the only upper number I have trouble hitting with the set I throw.

Bone Tracker can help with finding those sets for you.

Yeah, it seems to be that way most places I play. They are trying to keep the low life's from taking up places at the table that just come in bet the min on the ATS and scroll on their phone for hours. I do wish they would get rid of the stools around the table also I'm tried of the guy spalling on the table taking 2 to 3 spots.

Yeah, I use bone tracker, but my casino table doesn't have the same attitude as my practice table. I hit the ATS more often than most, but usually it's because I botched the toss to get Boxcars.

LOL. Just a couple of months ago I tossed the dice using my "mutant" V-3 set and it kicked off aces, and I said out lout, "Well THAT isn't supposed to show up on that set but I'll take it anyway." It's always a pleasant surprise to me when I "snipe" out a horn number without even trying. LOL. Everyone things your a genius. Hey, I do this stuff every day. Been doing it for over fifty years. You'll be able to do it like this too some day. All you have to do is say, "I meant that."
"Get in, get up, and get gone."
