Did they confirm that yet, I spoke to a bunch of Harrah's people last year and they described it as you stated except no one had it officially stated anywhere yet.
Any word if they were changing Diamond In a Day requirements?

I got 738 points for playing on 01/01/2013.
A few days later, it was updated to 863.
But again, as I told you earlier, this year I am neither playing for tier points nor reward credits.
The minute I hit the threshold level either ways, I am out. Even if the table is flaming hot.
I shall take the RCs as additional perks.

Re: Much easier to get higher tier points at Ceasars!!!
Please note that this post contains a 'buried nugget' of highly useful information.
~I think we all universally agree that playing strictly for comps is a bad idea, and would show very poor judgement, because the 'efficiency' of doing so is usually less than 30% of your overall EV. In other words, it's cheaper to use cash than to lose money in the casino, and then use part of the comp-EV to offset some of those losses.
~However, if as a by-product of within-your-comfort-zone play, comps are available; then I say go for them with all the verve and gusto you can.
~I think we also all agree that you should not play beyond your means or at places that are not DI-amenable.
Instead, I am simply saying that if you are playing at a casino where you are comfortable in playing at, and you are playing at a bet-level you and your bankroll is completely comfortable with; then if as a by-product of any play you are going to do there anyway (and for a session-duration you would normally be staying for regardless of comp-availability or not); then it's perfectly fine to take whatever comps are offered, and in fact to ask for comp-upgrades too.
While comp-offers are an enticement to get you to come in and visit; they are also a cost-offsetting opportunity that you would be crazy not to use were you going to be going there anyway. In that way, comps let you keep MORE of the cash that your D-I skills bring in, simply because the comps themselves go to pay for stuff that you might otherwise have to pay for with just-won cash.
Now in terms of various player-level tiers, I will simply say this. The higher your normal play gets you in a casino's tier-level heirarchy; the better the cashback perks, the better the food, the better the seating at concerts and sporting events, and this last point should not be under-estimated in its value: the BETTER the DEALERS and SUITS will TREAT you...and the less heat/shooting-hassle you'll get.
Or let me put it this way, one Seven Stars player is worth AT LEAST about 8 to 10 dealers, or 4 to 5 TGS's as far as the casino is concerned. One is considered an ASSET, and the other is considered a COST. Who do you think is more expendable in the casino's eyes?

How many hours of play does it take to get 500 tier points? Minimum bet? Just curious. Thanks.

Re: Much easier to get higher tier points at Ceasars!!!
dblayout,
At CET properties , I average getting 6 points per $5 wager. I only bet the Dont Pass , one loss per shooter , which means there are a lot of times that I do not have a wager on the felt.
I only play around 200 hours a year so my possibilities of reaching a higher tier is almost impossible . I did achieve platinum this year but CET gave me some tier points (they sent me an e-mail that stated they were adding so many tier credits to my account to make it easier for me to achieve platinum , which I did achieve before a Vegas trip in November. I think they added 500 tier credits and I still do not know why.
, only that it did help me to achieve platinum status , which means nothing in Tunica .
Well looking at my 2012 year end figures, for CET properties, I played for 84.5 hours and received 5117 tier credits . I started the year making basically $10 wagers and ended the Year making $45 wagers. ( this was largely do to an adjustment of goals and increasing the percentage of my gambling bankroll that I am willing to risk in a session from 4% to about 8%).
Well, I got off topic, but the reply is for me at CET , and I am a low rollin` frugal bettor, is I receive about 6 tier credits per $5 wagered per hour and 60% of that play was in Tunica.

Re: Much easier to get higher tier points at Ceasars!!!
OK, I am kind of dumb at this comp game.
Can anyone tell me an approximate dollar value I would have to run through machines and/or at the Craps table in a day to earn even 500 tier credits?
I guess I don't really understand the concept of what a tier credit is. I have looked on the Caesar site and did not find a good explanation of this.
I am hoping one of you friendly people on this site can give me a simple explanation of this.
Thanks!

Re: Much easier to get higher tier points at Ceasars!!!
$5 through a slot machine equals 1 tier credit. $10 for VP. So playing a $5 slot machine playing one coin you would have to push spin 500 times. It doesn't matter what you win.....what matters is that each $5 of "coin in" (pushing spin) earns you one tier credit.
For table games...well there is probably a formula but they don't publicize it that well. Has to do with average bet versus the time played and to some extent how well they like you at least that is what I have found.

Re: Much easier to get higher tier points at Ceasars!!!
The basic formula for calculating a player's expected-loss, combines the amount of time played, the number of hands per hour, the average bet, and the house-advantage over that wager.
That will let the casino determine the EV (expected-value) for that player's action. From that amount, the casino is usually willing to comp back a percentage of that EV to the player, in the form of free food, rooms, and shows, etc.
A typical comp-explanation would read something like:
"If a blackjack player bets $5 per hand for an hour at a table speed of 60 hands per hour, and the house figures it has a 2% edge over that player, then the player is betting $300 per hour, and the house, on the average expects to win $6, or 2% of $300.
If the casino issues comps at the rate of 30% of that player's expected-value (REGARDLESS of whether he wins or loses); then that player earns about $1.80 in comps per hour, regardless of the actual win or loss, regardless of whether he WINS $5...$50...or $500...or is he LOSES $5...$50...or $500."
However as I said at the outset, there's a little more to it, as I explain in my A $1 Any-7 wager is roughly equivalent to a $36 Place-8 piece.

$2500 run through a slot machine would get you 500 tier credits .
$5000 run through a video poker machine would get you 500 tier credits.
Both of the above are for Caesars Entertainment properties.

Comp promotions remind me of someone paying $500 for some white elephant piece of junk "marked down from $,1000" and being thrilled that they "saved" $500. I guess that's one way of seeing things...

Re: Much easier to get higher tier points at Ceasars!!!
I don`t have to worry about getting 500 points in a day . My current $45 DP would only receive 54 points per hour . I don`t think I have ever played 9 or 10 hours of craps a day.
