I wish I understood the math enough to figure this out on my own, but I'm at a loss... If we postulate we're betting on an established DI (7.5SSR), but we don't know what his/her signature numbers are, which is the better betting scheme:
The Box bets are limited if the point is 4/10, to 3 only, 2-unit bets on Inside numbers --4 is the point, then $10-5, 12-6, 12-8 with 2x PL Odds.
$32/34 Across and $5PL w/2x Odds, or
$26/27 Across and $5PL w/5x Odds (6x Odds on the 5/9). Which is the better scheme?
Thank you.
math and EV: "$44 Inside" vs. $27 Across w/ 5x PL Odds?

I guess you are aware you are betting different amounts on the two strategies. Your risking about $5 more on the second strategy than the first if I am reading it correctly. Not that big of a deal.
In answer to your question, I'd say none of the above. If you don't know signature numbers but you do know the 7.5 SRR (and I don't know how you'd know that if you didn't know what his dominant numbers are) then I'd focus on what should be the three best bets on the table. Pass line with as much odds as you can afford up to 10X plus place the six and eight. If the six or eight is the point then place the sister. With $60 per shooter to work with in a $5 - 10X odds game I'd probably go with Pass Line with $25 - $30 odds depending on the point - and place the six and eight for $12 each.
You and I would probably handle press moves differently, although you did not mention it. On the first hit on the six or eight I press both to $18. I'd take the next hit. On the third hit I'd press only the number that hit - and I'd power press it to $42. Then I'd sit there and collect $50 for $1 on that number until the ugly number showed.

I like it
See it in your mind FIRST...Then do it!

I forgot about this... I posed the question without all the details. The shooter is me. I chose "7.5" as the SSR because it approximates the low end of my last 3 full BT logs. My signature numbers with a x6's set at home are the 5, 9, 8, 6 in that order, though I've just recently changed to 5/3-5/6. With only 543 rolls I think the sig number for that set is 4, 9, 6 in that order. I haven't kept a roll record for live play; and in any case, I have only used the 5/3-5/6 set once at the casino , so I left sig numbers as a 'random'.
The two betting schemes I asked about are the regression bets after 2 hits that I've been using from 204 Across. I wanna keep the regressed money closer to $40 than $60, but I hate to pass up the empty boxes with a 4/10 as the point. (sometimes I'll play $5PL w/5 Odds on the 4/10 and just take the three box numbers closest to the point for $5 each, making a point of 4 a total bet of $47. But missin' the 9 & 10 when they hit is annoying, and seems "so minimal" I get dragged into "Across" by the psyche of it all.)
Sooo... I wondered, which is the better bet. Thank you.
