dont pass with odds
how often do you think you would win in your last 5 sessions betting $10 dont pass lay $12 odds, lose, $10dp lay $24 odds lose, $10dp lay $48 odds lose, $10dp lay $96 odds. i have gone to laying $96 on the same shooter once and won. this is if point is 6 or 8. i have done it many times on the 4 & 10. i usually chicken out on 5,6,8,9 before shooter gets to the 4th point. lately i have been getting killed on laying odds on 4 & 10 because i usually lay more money on 4 & 10 than i do on 5,6,8,9. i think i am going to back off on laying so much on 4 & 10.any opinions on this.advdel77

Re: dont pass with odds
It is not unusual for a shooter to make 5 points, or a shooter making a combination of 5 points or naturals during a craps session.
Your play, laying odds is kind of like Professor H`s Dont Pass Odds Progression ,although you are playing it a lot more aggressively than the way Professor H played.
Professor H , I think, played his progression on every shooter , every point. When I played his odds progression , I would limit myself to one loss per shooter.
Later on today, I shall post in this same thread the way I have been playing since Jan 1, to give you another way of play similar to yours and with the results for 71 hours and 15 minutes of play.

Re: dont pass with odds
I only play the Darkside. I do not bleed when I lose because I play within my bankroll. I do not jump up and down when I win because I know that I am playing a negative game and winning is only temporary. I do think , you can be ahead of the game, no matter how you play by leaving the table when you are ahead. My playing of the Donts have been influenced by my reading of the book written by the DiceDoctor and by conversations with Professor H on Irish`s old website.
I have played the Donts different ways since I began playing craps in the latter part of the year 2000. I usually try and play a certain way for six months at a time. I guess the reason for my doing this is that I need a slight change every once in a while.
I play a money management game which I base on patience and discipline. Like I say to dealers at the craps tables, "I have more patience than money", when they ask how I can stand at a craps table only making one bet per shooter.
Since Jan.1, 2015, I have been making a table minimum DP wager and if a number is established laying whatever amount of odds my bankroll can support.
The way I determine that is to take 4% of my Total Gambling Bankroll which is my Loss Limit (amount I am willing to risk during the session). My loss limit is my Buy In.
Since the first of the year , my odds at a $5 table has been: 30(25) 36(24) 40(20); this determined by formula comes out to a $30 average wager. I only lose one wager per shooter whether to a natural or to a point being made. On a winning wager , I place the profit from each shooter in the back rack which most players call the lockup rack.
This way of play for 71 hours and 15 minutes , has resulted in a loss of $324. However, I have turned free play that I have received since the first of the year into $339, so I have increased my Total Gambling Bankroll by $15 since the first of the year. I do not think that I should quit my day job, although I did retire.

I should also have added , that for those who are concerned about losing to 4s and 10s , you can always lay equal odds on the box numbers. Which means , you will not lose as much , but you also will not win as much.
Example: $5 DP $30 6/8 to win $25 $30 5/9 to win $20 $30 4/10 to win $15
This is the max odds you can lay on the strip and it works out to an average wager of $25. For me, being very conservative , I would want a Total Gambling Bankroll of $10,000 to play this amount of odds.

Yeah, I was beginning to feel my age in my last year of working . I always thought I was tough, but old age has brought me down. I wish I could have worked forever. I really do miss it . My first two weeks of retirement , we had ice, snow and rain. I didn`t know if I should stay drunk all day or commit suicide.

Hey DF,
Congrats on the retirement. No worries. Gail will keep you between the lines. Heading to Reno Thursday for biz, one of your fav places is it not? I know it is for Irish. Staying at Harrahs on comp and paying only $10 resort fee per night plus tax. The following week I go to NOLA. Will play there too. Might have chance to see Isgood. Hope the pendulum swings back your way on the don'ts.
Go Bulls Go Hawks Oh yeah, don't mess with the White Sox.

I kind of like that strategy, Obie1. More and more these days - as I spend more time on the road and have the opportunity to play in a LOT of off-the-beaten-path casinos - I find myself starting EVERY player out with a DP bet OR bypassing the DP and betting a second roll DC bet, which becomes my primary Don't bet. Typically $10 - $20 with $30 - $60 lay. Then I'll place the six and eight and follow the trend from there. Most frequently that means playing a couple of additional DC bets while having numbers placed. If, say, the nine rolls and my DC rolls to the nine - assuming I have $35 on it (my favorite bet on the nine) I'll collect $50 for $1 and bring the $35 nine down, then use $30 of it for odds on the lay. Cover a couple of numbers, get paid along the way, then take down the place bets and wait for a decision. If a hand develops adjust on the fly from there.
"Get in, get up, and get gone."

I am staying active. Now that the weather is better, the garden should be in full swing in a week or two. Since February , we have been to Las Vegas once , Laughlin once , and Biloxi twice.
We do not have any trips , other than to Tunica planned for May. Gail is trying to get a cheap flight to Las Vegas for June . Then July will mostly be spent with the grandchildren in Northwest Arkansas.
Thanks for the betting advice.
