Bonus Bet Strategies- Laying

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Bonus Bet Strategies- Laying

Post by Bankerdude80 » Wed Jun 17, 2015 10:17 pm

I was never a big believer in hedge bets other than the occasional World bet on a come-out roll (even still not a good idea).
My question is when is it feasible to hedge on the bonus bets? Is it feasible? (i.e. Lay the last remaining box number(s) on the ATS,
or lay the 5th or 6th point on the fire bet). What is the best way to calculate how much to lay if you have a limited session stake
($300 to $500)? Is it even worth it?

One of the dealers at a place I played a couple of weeks ago tried to convince me (after I'd made the small and was working on the last number for the tall and all) that I needed to lay against the point for $100 to guarantee some sort of win. For me, it just wasn't worth it. Didn't want the negative thoughts that go with laying a point when you're the shooter inside my head. However, had I been shooting for the final number on a Fire bet with several dollars on the Fire then I would definitely have laid the final point. Just a question of the amounts involved from my perspective.
