Changes to Odds Betting and Comp Policies
Golden Nugget, LV.
Played craps early last month.
The Casino Host advised that GN no longer comp the Pass Line odds bet. The solution is to Place a bet on the point to earn the comp if that is important to you. Comps are important to me because I stay and get most of my meals at the GN.
Wynn, LV Strip,
I didn't play craps at the Wynn but did confirm there that the max Pass Line odds bet is 2X. Again if comping is important to the player the best solution is the same as above.
Cheers

Re: Changes to Odds Betting and Comp Policies
Thanks for the update. Back in the day I used to go out of my way to play for comps. Eventually I put a pencil to it and figured that (1) they were never rating craps players correctly anyway, (2) when you did get rated it was for pennies - no comps of any real value were forthcoming, and (3) most of the time it was cheaper for me to pay for my own meal (and I'd prefer to get out of the casino to eat sometimes anyway) than to put in the extra half hour I needed to earn a bad buffet. So, I hand in my players card, let them rate my play, and if the comps come I use them. If not - no problem. As my buddy SIA says, "Don't let these clothes I'm wearing fool you. I've got money."
"Get in, get up, and get gone."

Heavy ,
I asked SIA one time if I could borrow some money and he said, "I ain`t got no money." He must have sold that Armani suit he was wearing and put the money in his pocket.
One of my resolutions for this year is to not worry about gaining comps. Just play and try to leave the table with a win. I will try and only play at MGM, CET and Boyd properties, just because of convenience.

My usual three nights of accommodation and meals during high occupancy periods can be expensive therfore I do take full advantage of casino comps when it makes sense. I spend most of my playing time where I stay at either GN or Caesars, the comps contribute nicely to a very pleasant and trip.

Strategy,
I should also add that even though I said I was not going to worry about gaining comps , I sometimes travel and always stay and always eat on comps my wife receives. If it were not for my wife , I would never venture farther than Tunica , if Tunica at all. So everyone work the comp system for all that it is worth, just don`t get into a deep hole doing it.
Happy New Year everyone!!

Re: Changes to Odds Betting and Comp Policies
Does anyone here play primarily at MGM properties? I received a letter that they were discontinuing express comps for table game play but it didn't say how table game comps were going to be taken care of?
I was wondering if they were going back to the use it this trip or lose it system they used to have or if it was going to be like Boyd properties where the table game comps are banked but you have to see a pit critter or host to use them?

+On the mlife website it states the changes which were to start on Dec. 15, 2015. I played at Bellagio, NYNY, and Monte Carlo on Dec. 9 and 10 and received no Express Comps for my 2.5 hours of play. I did receive tier credits. My local casino in Tunica still gives me Express comps for my play, as was mentioned on the mlife site.
I have no idea what the Las Vegas MGM owned casinos will do about comping players.
A couple of years ago at a Las Vegas casino seminar , a big marketing man from a high classed marketing firm gave a talk about casinos giving away too much to players in comps. I guess the MGM execs took that to heart and along with CET going into bankruptcy , which caused a reduction in the comps to their players, there may be no need to give out comps for low house edge table play on the Strip to attract players.

Dylanfreake,
I completely agree, expert bankroll management is essential in order for me to walk away a winner over three days of play.
Irish,
Thanks for the info re the skinflint comps at GN- LV. I've talked to them about that occasionally, most recently after my last trip Nov/15. Unfortunately I wouldn't stay at any other Casino downtown LV.he GN rooms are very good. The other option for me is Caesars Palace, however they had only one table in play until noon when during 2014 and the first half of 2015.
I don't like the poor condition of the tables at Paris.
Wishing everyone a Happy and Successful New Year.

Re: Changes to Odds Betting and Comp Policies
I read a great comment recently when somebody was talking about the continued policy of comped rooms at certain propeties but with the incessant march towards a $100 resort fee
