Craps Check, C&E, 3-Way Craps, Horn, World . . .

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Craps Check, C&E, 3-Way Craps, Horn, World . . .

Whew. The title of this thread sounds like a stickman's rap. Craps Check, C&E, 3 Way Craps, Horn, World, High-low-Yo! Get 'em in while the dice are in the center. Yeah, I'll agree with that last part. But should you bet betting this action at all? Unless you have a damn good reason for getting them you'd probably best avoid them. So why do YOU bet these bets? Inquiring minds want to know.

I play it sometimes, on the come out roll, it seems to pay better this way rather than just playing a crap check to guard your pass line bet,,, I'm sure that hedging is a waste of money in the long run.

I'm not a fan at all. However, I admit I will throw out a rare craps bet on the come-out if I have thrown two craps numbers myself, or if I have parlayed my passline 5 to 10 to 20 and am looking for some kind of protection at that stage.

I do a hi-lo-yo once in a while after a craps or eleven has been thrown..depending on the RR's performance. Think I'm ahead on that bet
over the years.

Well, I'm probably one of the worst offenders on the forum. But hey, I'm a "do as I say" kind of guy so don't follow my lead.

One the Come Out - if I'm the shooter or if I know the shooter and he is setting for the Horn numbers on the come out I'll bet a $5 World. On my hands I'll add a $2 High Low for a total of $7 action. I'll press every hit so I'll go $7, $14, $21, $28, $35. I don't recall getting it above $35 in the last few years, but I have been in on streaks where the shooter tossed as many as 13 Horn numbers on the Come Out. On those occasions this bet really does well. But your losses can stack up if you play an entire session without hitting it. Probably to the tune of $70 - $100 per trip around the table. That's why I don't bet it on every player.

I also suffer from the "see a horn - bet a horn" disease. It is what it is. If I had not won so much money on that play through the years I would not use it - particularly on guys who set the dice. Alas, it is what it is.

I rarely bet a "craps check" or a "three-way-craps." Even through a three-way-craps makes more sense than the World bet, I like the small wins from the eleven that the World kicks off, and the hedge effect of the 7's portion of the World bet appeal to me as well.

Again, I don't teach people to make these bets. Far to the contrary. I recommend against it. But I count it as part of the "entertainment" portion of the game when I play. As long as I don't lose more than I've allotted for that play I'm fine with it.

I too use the World bet when I am shooting during the come-out game. I'll also use it only if I have seen a trend of craps numbers during other shooters' come-out phase. I am fickle to a fault sometimes when it comes to the other high vig bets. I am way too inconsistent in my betting of these to where it is profitable for me, therefore I try to avoid them. I've been told, if you play these bets, bet them consistently otherwise you will most likely lose.

If my toss is not 100% "on" I toss a ton of ace deuces with two different sets. If I'm using a hardway set, once in a great while I'll bet the ace deuce straight up as one die off doesn't concern me as much with that set. If I'm using a 3V set, I use it as a signal that a coffee break is needed.

I don't play a separate comeout game. My goal is to set pass line points that I have the greatest chance of repeating. The only time I stray is if I need one number to make money on the ATS bet.
