100 x odds at Cromwell
Dust off your progressive odds systems guys. The news of the above has come out and it's real.
Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
I also read that they will rate you on odds and flat bet, and they will allow put bets.

Wow that's great news. It'll be interesting to see how long it lasts.

Yes, I'd forgotten all about this, but the dealers were really talking it up when Howard and I were playing there a couple of weeks back. They had not implemented it at the time, but told us it was coming "next week." 100X odds up to $5000 max. Note that other Caesar's properties are still at 3-4-5X odds.

Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
Given they also haves some 25c full pay video poker and some $10 and $15 BJ with decent rules - certainly by strip standards anyway, the Cromwell is quickly becoming the go to place. Throw in great drink service too and there is now even more to like.
I guess the downside on craps would be packed conditions if the 100 odds brings people flocking in. Be interesting to see how Cromwell's numbers on craps end up during this period as there can be no doubt they expect plenty to over-stretch their bankroll and I could imagine lots of players busting out more quickly than they normally would.

Yeah, that's the secret of 100X odds - players will over bet their bankrolls and the volatility of the game will get them on the down-swing.

Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
So, how would you all play this? Would you change your style of play for this? I rarely Come bet due to 3,4,5 as it is not really better than Place bets. I think with my bankroll I would start out with 10X odds with three Come bets and a line bet if I was the shooter. Would see where that would take me and increase odds and replace Come bets as the hits start coming. Is there a better play? Thanks for any suggestions or comments.

Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
Probably $10 Dark Side, though surprisingly they are known to run a $5 game at slow times - I had the table to myself one morning and they dropped the min to $5.
RR, I guess theoretically making use of larger odds bets via passline and come (or DP and DC on the other side) is the way to go if your bankroll supports that level of play comfortably. The main key though will be to not risk more because of the better odds deal - that's what the casino will want you to do as Heavy alludes to as you will run out of funds before they do, even if with max odds behind, your bets are essentially as good as a coin flip against the house.
I think what interested me most about the news was that this is happening on the strip, in a casino I really like and on a table which I like to play on. Hell, I've not got anywhere near the funds to get some juicy odds bets out there, but it's certainly nice to hear of a change that is positive for players.
For whatever reason CET are using the Cromwell to buck the modern trend of the strip in wanting to rid the gamblers of their betting $ as quick of possible. The irony being of course that for plenty of people who pile into this "good deal" their betting $ will disappear quicker.

Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
With 100x odds I usually would press my odds as the hand progresses, waiting for the point number to "pop". I'm certainly not going to play 100x odds right out of the gate, my bankroll won't support that kind of action.
The Cromwell's table minimums vary from $5, $10, $15 to $25 from what I have seen.

Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
Thanks London Shooter,
Initially I Didn't really think I would be over extending my normal betting since I put out fairly large Place Bets when I toss. However, you made me rethink it and I can see a bit of a problem now. I do start with large bets and then regress. Won't be doing that with Come Bets. So I need to do fewer Come bets to start or fewer odds. Thanks for your sensible comments!

Okay, has on one visited Cromwell since this change? If so, antibody there taking advantage of full odds?

Heading out May 28th-31st. It'll be one of the places I play.
Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
Doesn't Cromwell have only 2 tables? Main result I would see is crowded table conditions making those nice tables less playable.
Re: 100 x odds at Cromwell
There are three tables at the strip end of the pit. One is behind the two main ones and is the table where they give free craps lessons. I've never seen it open. There's a fourth one tucked away on the opposite end of the pit that's right near the club entrance. It's typically only open Friday and Saturday nights and is said by some to be the best table in the house. With that said, I find the two on the strip end of the pit very playable.

Agree on those 2. Never seen the one near the club entrance. Will have to check it out. Thanks Heavy.
