Okay, last year we spent much of the month of December discussing The Twelve Bets of Christmas. This year I thought we'd shorten the list a bit and feature the Seven Bets of Hanukkah. Why? Because it's a slow post night on the forum. What the heck. So here they are:
1. Don't Come
2. Pass Line
3. Buy the Four and Ten
4. Place the Six and Eight
5. The Free Odds
6. The Don't Pass
7. The Come Bet
These are your seven best bets at craps folks. The order in which I have them listed may confuse some of you, so I'll open it to the floor. You tell me why I consider the Don't Come bet to be the best bet your can make at the table, and why the Free Odds bet doesn't show up until number five. And if the Don't Come bet is so good, why is the Come bet so bad? Hint. It's not. So let's hear your thoughts, guys. What do you think the best bets are craps are and why?

We all know that eight days and nights of kinky, wild sex is called " HanukahLewinsky".
Don't Come is #1 because of the low .136 House edge and because it is not prone to come out naturals. After it travels to a number , the player whose wager it is , has the goods over the house. Plus the DC is not likely to hurt the feelings of the Rightside player as a Don't Pass wager is.
Pass line is a wager that also has a low .141 house edge. By making the Pass line wager, the player is ready to take advantage of comeout wins at a time when he has the advantage over the casino.
Buying the 4 and the 10, cuts the .667 house edge on that wager big time . Heavy can tell and show you where to play and how to cut that high house edge to .111 on buy wagers on the 4 and 10.
Place the 6 and 8 has a house edge of .151 and is the most common place bet made because of the low house edge for those who are short on bankroll.
The free odds are really not free since they are connected to the Pass Line/Come or Don't Pass DC wagers. By taking or laying free odds , you put yourself into position to win more but you can also lose more . The free odds , I suppose , has a volatility issue
The Don't Pass wager like the DC wager has a cool .136 house edge but is susceptible to the flurry of come out naturals that do happen. Plus the Don't Pass wager , sometimes causes Rightside players to go ballistic. Although that has really toned down in the last few years as more rightside players are beginning to play the Darkside (at least that is my observation ).
The Come Bet only has a .141 house edge but is a contract wager and must be hit twice to win. The dice, instead of the player , determine the number wagered on and don't the rightside players just love the 2,3,and 12 when the come bet is in the come? Then when on a number a comeout Seven brings the come s travel day to a halt.
Since this is approaching " HanukahLewinsky", my eighth bet , would be the Lay Bet on the 4 and 10. By finding a casino that charges the 5% vig on the back end, the house edge can be lowered from .244 (vig paid up front ) to .167, plus there are ways to reduce that house edge even further.

One thing I would add about the DC (or DCs) is it gives you a chance to embrace the subsequent come out 7 if a point is made, along with all the passline bettors.
