Strategy of Sevens?

There are no stupid questions...correct? Especially for a newbie?

Just thinking...if there are more ways to roll a seven than any other number and a DI can roll the seven set successfully, why not bet the PL with craps protection? Roll as many sevens as you can until a point is established, then Lay the 4 or 10 and shoot to seven out?

I'm sure that table bettors would be VERY unhappy with this, unless they KNOW what you are attempting. I also realize this is really not the objective of the game but, isn't making $$$$ the REAL objective for any DI?

I do realize a DI can establish a favorite point number and try to wear it out and press with casino $$$ and make much more than a modest Lay bet. But the seven would always loom.

I'm thinking of steady, small and progressive wins here over the long haul. No matter what number you can roll successfully, if the seven supposedly shows more than the rest, why not?

I am probably missing something here? OK...lay the experience and wisdom on me please.

The main problem with your sevens strategy is that you're pissing money away on the craps hedge. If you were betting, for example $19 on the Pass Line (there's a reason for that amount) and were considering a $3 three-way craps as a hedge bet . . . but you really ARE good at tossing sevens . . . why not just take that $3 and hop the sevens with it for an added "kicker" payoff when you toss that come out natural?

Now when you get to the point that you've established a point and you need to lay that point in order to seven out - a proper lay bet ($41 no four or ten, $31 no five or nine, or $25 no six or eight) will kick off a $20 win - leaving you with a $1 profit after they rake your Pass Line bet. There's your dealer toke, I suppose.

Anyway, let me just add that I know a guy who is a member of the forum who used to play this way and parlay those seven hops bets two or three times when he was on a roll. I've seen him toss six sevens in a row on the come out. He was a shooting star - until the time that it didn't work and it killed his confidence. To my knowledge it hasn't worked for him since. But hey - now we're talking about the "craps between your ears."

Anyone else have any thoughts on this play?

Why not hedge the lay bet with a buy bet on the 4 and 10 and then everything is hedged ; except if one of the hedges wins and the other loses , the money seems to go to the chip bank and not the player`s rack. Hedging leads to lose-lose.

I`m going outside and replant some hedges , which is the best way to deal with hedges.

I actually had a chart on hopping the 7's where you can make money if you can throw a seven within every five throws. Problem is whenever you need to throw a 7, you can't! Lol
Plus you need to be on an empty table, so you can get the dice back again.

Toss 3: 7 - Give up dice.

Irish...didn't really think about that at a full table. Guess if you didn't bet large enough on the Lay bet and win it, it would be much better to hold the dice and roll away.
