What are your favorite money management tricks?

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Yeah, when Irish and I are at the table together he can't get a word in. I'm the guy who attracts all of the heat/attention. Part of this is intentional. When playing with friends I like to draw attention away from what they are doing and on to me. Just an attempt to get the dealer's eyes off a guy who may be a little slow to set and toss or whatever. But part of it is just my nature. I have, on occasion, been accused of being somewhat verbose, bellicose, hawkish, antagonistic, scrappy, and from time to time outright confrontational. Hey, it's how I roll.

One more money management tip. If you're not feeling it - just stay in the hotel room or relax by the pool.

Betting on randies in an intelligent manner is exactly what I plan to do this trip.

It won't be on every player but I will have my head in the game. I also suspect there may be long waits between my throws and I am happy enough to take my chances on catching something elsewhere.

On a randy I like to bet 1 bet on 8 or 9 for 18(15) then when it hits I get 6-8 for 12 each. Not worth making two bets. And if it takes 5-6 throws to pay my bet, I just come down.

In my last four sessions I've started betting One Hit Can't Miss at the $6 level on Random Rollers. When the occasional hot roll happens from one of these shooters I transition to betting PL with odds, place bets, etc. This has worked wonders for my ability to stand at the table and not lose my shirt while waiting for the dice, and I got to make some good money on a handful of nice rolls. I've had 3 winning sessions out of 4.

In thnck's Cherokee example I would have won a net of $9 on that shooter assuming I would have pressed the 8 on the third hit. Not a huge win, but better than a loss!
