Baccarat

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

Still...been watching the baccarat tables every day before they open up the craps table. I might actually play some times but, very little anymore (I save my BR for the craps table now). From where I position myself, I can watch four tables at once.

I had been noticing something lately, that I decided to watch out for now. It may seem strange, like anything else but, I started noticing that when a Player result was a 6, no matter whether it won or lost that hand, Player would win the next hand very consistently. This was for Player only. I watched for the same type of results for the Banker but, it was hit and miss...nothing really stood out with consistency. The Player results DID start standing out in my mind.

Like anything else, I don't know how well this would work out over a BIG selection of shoe data.

What I have been doing this past week or so is keeping some stats on my iPhone day by day (just for grins), watching for this situation. Yes, it is a small data sample but, the results so far have been pretty amazing.

For what it's worth...

182 Player Results of a 6 (Win or Lose)
146 Player Wins On The Following Hand
80.22%

Haven't noticed to many Thais lately but a lot of Chinese and Koreans... ;)

Wait till BBones gets a hold of this! Time to bet the farm!

So how many times in % does a Player 6 happen?

Well, I was observing four separate tables and logging about 18-25 Player 6's per shoe, so that averages out to about 4 to 6 per shoe. Not sure if that's a large amount or not. given hundreds or thousands of shoe data.

It was just a strange observation that I started noticing, with so many Player 6's coming up. May not mean anything...

Strato,

Nice observation on your part. I would say at 1k plays you'll have an idea if you're on to something and at 10k you will know if you got something. Just keep noting and keeping track.

Best of luck.

For what it's worth I went to the Horseshoe in Hammond IN(around 20 plus tables of baccarat on most evenings) and it won 19 times and lost 10 times.

BTW, are the baccarat games at your local dealt with 8 decks of cards. I know a few foreign locals deal with 6 decks.

Yes, they are 8 deck shoes here in the Philippines, Hong Kong and Macau (that I can speak for playing at those locations).

Wow...65% win rate. Great observation. Again, like I said, just a strange observation I made watching/playing over the days/years. Maybe used with other methods of bet/play, it may be worthy of note.

The P-6 win rate seems to weigh in near the neighborhood of the average number of Tie decisions ( not Thais )

Could there be something in this concept that may apply to other numbers ?

just wondering

That's $2200 profit if you ran $100 D'Alembert progression on player!

Not since I originally posted. Got sidelined with a pinched nerve in the neck and have been taking a craps break. I will continue to watch this when I get back into my normal routine (2-3 times a week) and post some more results. For some reason, I have found this to be quite an interesting thing to watch when I go to the casino.

Note that I watched this for awhile with Banker but, Banker seemed to get killed with it so I quit observing that.

I just love watching and observing the tables more than playing actually. I'm basically a see a quick opportunity/single bet, get in and out...move on, kind of guy at Baccarat. Things that seem odd or out of the ordinary, I will observe for awhile until I see a pattern. Then, I start charting it somewhat to see if there is anything to it.

Long term there will be nothing in this. There cannot be, otherwise the Baccarat game would bring the house down.

But we all love patterns and like to be them accordingly, either with the trend or against the trend. Thing is in looking for patterns we forget about all the things we discounted eg you were looking for a banker pattern but it was getting killed, so you quit.

Eventually you will always find a pattern somewhere within events that have already happened :)

I've been watching the "see a 6 bet a six". Problem is I don't stay at the bacc table too long as Heavy says Get in Get up and Get Gone.

The first time I watched it went 0 for 3. However, this was at the Boomtown Casino where it is fake baccarat and they only deal about 40 hands before starting another fake shoe. Perhaps the opposite would apply to fake baccarat.

At Harrahs a different story. 4/7 2/2 3/5. So far there have not been any back to back losses.

Definitely another tool in my Bacc tool box.
Thankyou Stratocasterman.

If it's a hand shuffled game where the cards are changed out after every shoe you could be onto something as most dealers do a very poor job of washing the cards. If I'm playing Blackjack with new cards I move to a different table if the 7,8.and 9's are still bunched together. You can't beat a game where the dealer is showing a 7, 8 or 9 and the under card is also a 7, 8 or 9 and to a lesser extent 5's and 6's.

Otherwise it is probably short term variance.

It certainly could be variance and just another great idea that works until it doesn't.

I will continue to keep an eye on it maybe even stay for an entire shoe or two.

None on the Baccarat games here in Biloxi are hand washed. The decks of cards arrive pre shuffled dealer fans them to make sure they are all face down and then deposit them into the shufflemaster.

Still Imho, the best game in town.

I will continue to keep an eye on it maybe even stay for an entire shoe.

Here, in one of the casinos, they hand shuffle 8 decks in a special room in the back corner of the casino. They wrap the shoe deck up in thin plastic, number them with special tags, seal them in a hard plastic container and seal it with a plastic tab that is opened/broken by the dealer upon the player and dealer cuts before being placed into the shoe. After the cards are removed at the end of the game/shoe, the dealer marks a permanent ink pen line across all the cards, puts them back into the plastic pouch, puts the tag inside too, then, places all of that back into the hard plastic container and slips the plastic tab seal back on sealing the used deck.

It's kind of interesting because they have a huge, clear plexiglass window that you can stand at and watch all of this transpire, when they are preparing the cards for play. Several employees stand at large felt covered benches and hand shuffle deck after deck of cards while a supervisor watches over and directs them. Seems like a very boring job...

Just for grins, on my way to the craps table yesterday saw the remains of the following incomplete shoe with NOBODY at the table...
B,1,2,1,1,25,1,1,1,11,1,12,2,1,1

That's 51 Players to 10 Bankers so far. Surprising thing was that of all those decisions, there were 10 Naturals and Banker was 5 of them. I started to sit down and play a Player "Cowtippin" but, the guys at the craps table were motioning me to get to the craps table quickly. By the time I got to the craps table, the 30+ roll some little gal was on ended.

Danga...missed out on both of them!!! F'n Manila traffic!

Have recently Been playing often at the Biloxi IP casino at their “fake” Baccarat game. It’s completely electronic and so random that it didn’t seem random at all.

New hand every 20 seconds nobody delaying game with late bets or buying in. Electronic shoe about 40 hands.

The patterns were almost too obvious and I was doing quite well.

Then Bam. It became completely random I am patiently waiting for it to hopefully return.

Any other Baccarat enthusiasts playing this game

Bones --

no electronic bacc games in St Louis where I play.

But I've been enjoying EZBacc as my sitdown game as I mature.

Like all casino games, it's tough to come out winners.

I have come to enjoy baccarat as my #2 game behind craps of course. In my Brisbane Australia casino they have $1 minimum computer baccarat with hands dealt every 30 seconds. There are no end of shoe moments as the computer just keeps going they remove the previous history of hands every 20 or so hands in a sliding scale. I like the game because I can relax and not think about it and just follow simple strategies. I practice those strategies in my baccarat app on my phone until they are like second nature. Let’s me catch up on emails and reading / listening to podcasts while playing in the casino.
