Kentucky Derby 2019

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

greetings steve O,

Thats not true, the only way you can win playing horses in the long run IS by playing horses that show a IREGULAR race in their last race AND knowing how to bet those horses.......I already posted how to bet these horses I did it for 30 years PLUS.

Listen to me and you too will be a winner beting on horses. The problem with horse players IS that they want to bet every race on the card., if that day they go to the track AND there are 10 races they will bet all 10 races OR till they have no more money to bet with. good luck Steve O.

Steve, can you database screen by horse? right now I can get what I need from spreadsheets, that works for the 3yo. Also what data files do you use? Why did you pick those tracks to focus on? Is every race one record or is the entire card?

Not sure what you mean "database screen by horse". I use BRIS data files and I picked those tracks because I thought they would be good samples. Kentucky, Florida and New York. The BRIS files contain data for one day's complete card.

See

Maybe the word filter would have been better. You have one horse on five cards, and you only want to look at the one horse over a period of time, get the lifetime PP. If the record is the card, then the answer would be no. so your data files are not for any of the bris programs. I would have to convert all my data files into csv,

Hey Raider. I apologize in that I think I am just not understanding something here.

The BRIS data file contains up to 10 past races, up to 12 workouts, trainer and jockey information for each and every horse. When I said one day's card, I did not mean that there was only one line of data per horse. You can use the BRIS PP Generator and generate standard (and some customized) racing forms.

These files are made specifically for BRIS handicapping programs and they are distributed in CSV form so other programs can use them.

I use the bris files on three programs. I have never tried a Database, my data goes back years. The card only gives you last 10 races, but older horses have run more than 10. I cut and pasted a card together that had all the races a horse had ran in his lifetime, not just the last ten.I was wondering if a data base could search by horse to get the life time PP(or all that was in the data base). I guess what I am asking, if each card is one record could you combine part of the card with other cards.

Okay, now I understand. Yes I think you could do that. The only issue I could see is the data files do not have a year in the title. So TAM1122.drf from 2018 has the same name as Tam1122.drf from 2017.

Oh yes, I have run into that a software , had to make files in 6 year chunks, the combine them. It took a while to get what I wanted, but it works. the second Saturday of the month doesn't repeat dates for 6 years.
