I'm stunned that none of you Texas guys (hey, that's me!) have been antagonizing the Detroit area players over this whole baseball playoff thing. What's up with that? Well, if you have an opinion (or a wager or two on the playoff games) let's hear about it.

Ya know Heavy, I have never bet baseball in my life. However, I hit a three team parlay and a four team parlay on the NFL last sunday. If the dang Giants had played a little, I would have even done better. I already have my printouts for Sat and Sun, so tomorrow will do the arithmetic. sia

Well, it would appear that the Rangers answered any questions we might have had about the strength of the Tiger's bull pen. Nice little rout last night.

Well, here's the current top five favorites for winning the 2012 series as far as the betting public is concerned. Man, I'd hate to see Philly win it. Most of the action on NY and Boston at this point is early fan-base betting. Texas and St. Louis? I can't imagine Texas getting another shot. I think I'll go for a real long shot (29-1 at this point) and back the Miami Marlins.

Current odds to win the 2012 Series

Philadelphia Phillies 4 to 1
New York Yankees 5 to 1
Boston Red Sox 6.50 to 1
St. Louis Cardinals 13 to 1
Texas Rangers 13 to 1

This is all why I don't bet sports. I like Benny Binion's old theory. You don't bet on anything that eats or shits. Of course, I do like to play the dogs and the ponies. But handicapping is such a time consuming exercise for me that I gave it up.

2016 saw the biggest priced winner in sports betting history, I believe, when Leicester won the English Premier League football (soccer) at 5,000 to 1
