As it turns out, I have a bankroll and some time this week. I try to take either this week or last week off and my boss is very understanding that I make that decision at the last minute because should my beloved Pittsburgh Penguins be in the Stanley Cup Finals I want to travel to any away games that would potentially be a Cup winner. My wife and kids aren't into it so I go with a friend and they go to visit her sister for part of the week. Well, my team let me down this year so I have the money I saved up for that trip available and the wife and kids are still going to visit family so what's a guy to do with time and money?

Oscar's Grind, that's what.

I've decided to set the following goals for the next several days play:

$10 units on naked DP
I want to win 5 progressions per session
I want to win 10 sessions (will play multiple sessions in a day of course)
$500 profit for the week

I believe this to be a modest goal, but I'd like to hear from someone who has done this or tried to do it before. Is 10 session win a in five days too many? Is 5 progressions per session too many? Where would you put a stop loss for a session considering a $2500 bankroll?

I'd like the boards thoughts as I'm gonna start this tomorrow. I believe the reason I have been failing recently is because I go into the casino with no plan or I deviate from the plan if it's not going well or worse, if it's going well I tend to go for the kill shot with my winnings and give them back.

This is my play and I think I can stick to it.

Well, I have not played Oscar's grind but if I was heading for a craps trip of multiple sessions with a 2500 bankroll, I'd be splitting it up into say 250 buy-in for each session and setting a loss limit of 125 that way you are only losing 5% of your starting bankroll if things go really bad. Maybe that is too conservative for you? It will see you through many sessions though and it seems like your plan is to be playing loads over several days so you certainly don't want to be risking too much in any one trip to the table.

In my limited experience I've found the more detailed I have planned (eg if "this" number rolls, then I do "XYZ"). and practiced my plan before hand, the bettermy results generally turn out.

I asume you're going to The Rivers(?). Maybe we'll cross pathsin the next day or two and shake hands? It takes me 17 min from leaving my living room couch to get to the craps pit (I'm not sure if that's a good thing! ).

The secret is to quit when you're ahead. Funny how some people don't get that. The second part of the game is to stick with your loss limits. You can always take a break, sit at the VP bar and invest ten bucks in s .25 cent machine and kill an hour while taking a break.

I began with a $5 DP wager and went from there, limiting my play to one loss per shooter. Ainsley in his book said that you should use $150 as a loss limit (that would be $300 if your beginning bet is $10). I found that a $350 loss limit on a $5 starting bet would work better if you had enough of a total gambling bankroll. (about $8,125).

note: a $300 loss limit would require a minimum of a $7,500 bankroll, for my conservative play.

Oscar`s Grind is not a bad way to play ,but it is not a guaranteed winner either.
