Do you resist prop bets when they are hitting?

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Do you resist prop bets when they are hitting?

Went to Ho-Chunk in WI last night to get some table time....tables were empty and I was wanting to get some real table roll time(2 tables open and I picked the one that had 1 or 2 people playing so I would get the dice more) but at one point one table filled up quickly....so I stayed to work some bets on other shooters....now here is the question....one "kid" kept rolling horn numbers...one after another...he was just whipping the dice down the table, but they kept coming up....I layed off of them though, didn't bet one....just kept to my conservative betting....so, when do you choose to bet the horn numbers?(if ever) do you go by gut instinct? do you try to spot a streak and go with it? or do you just lay off like I did.....once in a while I would get a little voice saying "throw down a Yo, but I would resist...sure enough bam "YO eleven, good come.....am I over analyzing?

I usually resist but that depends on many factors. What is my play? What is my bankroll? Am I up or down for the session? How much time do I have left? My typical play is a few placed bets or a few DC bets depending on the trend of the table. If I'm betting positive, say on the 6&8, and a streak of horn numbers starts to appear, I'll bring down the 6&8 and place a field bet. I like the field in this case because it will also let me win on 4, 9, 10. A streak of horn numbers is always a field streak and also a non-inside streak so it's worth $10 to try and ride it or chase it away and make the inside numbers come back. If the field hit's I'll parlay. If the field hits again I've turned $10 into $40 and I'll rack $10 and place the 4, 9 and 10 since those are field numbers. I'm now even for that shooter and worst case is I break even. If the inside starts hitting I'll move those three bets to chase what's showing.

If that first field bet doesn't hit I'll wait to see if the inside continues or if it's just choppy. I lost $10 but at least I didn't lose $24 to a seven. Basically I'm always looking to take advantage of the streak. We did this on a hit and run play at Circus Circus last month and turned $25 into $112. I started with $12 each on the 6&8 but the shooter kept rolling field numbers. I took the 6&8 down and a field $10 became $40 in two rolls. Then the inside started hitting again and I moved back to 6&8. I pressed the 8 to $18 then to $24. Most of the profit came from the 8 but the field streak allowed me to be on two - three placed numbers with no risk and that makes it easy to just stay up and hope the shooter goes on a tear, which in this case, she did. It's not much different from other regression plays where you take some risks at first to get even, then leave the profit on the table to hopefully parlay into a great profit with no further risk on that shooter.
I wanna see the dust...

I bet what the table is giving up. Mind you, I won't chase the props but if they are hitting I'll have a little action out there.
