Hi folks

Has anyone read and road tested the strategys in David Medansky's Greatest Craps Guru book?

2 hits and down with a modified Iron Cross, $10 4, $25 5, $30 6, $30 8, $10 9, $10 10, and $10 field = $125 total

Lay all numbers for $30ea on come out for cold tables.

I remember reading a trip report from someone on the forum that tried it out while on a cruise but the tables were cold and it isn't very forgiving. I can't find that trip report now.

The I C ( also known by other names) is a global strategy..The commonality in global strategies is to place a LARGE $ wager covering several numbers,to capture a lesser amount on the ONE NUMBER that shows with the caveat to reduce the $$$$$ at risk of loss after a win
.
HOWEVER FACTOR ALERT
..
The seven ( 7 ) has a near 17 % of showing on each and every roll of the dice
That seventeen percent propensity can eat your Buy In / Bank Roll rapidly
,
People do win global wager(s)
To so do consistently may require a greater amount of discipline than the average wager maker brings to the typical craps experience

Mister Wonderful says..stop the madness. If you're gonna do this really bad bet, why not, instead of a $10 field (you've already covered most of those
numbers), go for an $8 horn? You'd win much more. Say you hit 12 with $10 field. Most places pay double for $20. Horn bet for $2 would
pay you $60 minus a couple bucks.

We had some fairly extensive discussion of the Medansky strategy back when the book first came out. I met David many years ago - around 2000, I believe. And at some point he asked permission to use my dice setting strategy card in a book he was working on - a request I granted since I think any sort of publicity is good when you have a product you're selling.

Back when the book you're talking about first came out, some folks who had not read the book but had seen the strategies posted about them on the forum. I seem to recall that Medansky did not take the criticism well and actually threatened legal action against at least one of these folks. Some posts were removed and apologies offered and accepted. Mr. Medansky is an attorney by day - so those involved took his threats seriously.

I have a "review" copy of Medansky's book with the strategies mentioned in it. I don't find it a completely awful strategy, but it's not one I'd use with any regularity. I actually kind of like thnick's idea better. As for the Lay Across strategy - like the old "anything but seven" strategy - that's been in the core of common knowledge (if I may use that term) in the DI community for at least 10 - 12 years now and I'm confident the strategy was around before that.

As we often say around here, there's not really anything new in the world of craps as far as betting is concerned - there's just information that's new to YOU.

Just like MP's 204 across, it has it's time and place. Unlike MP's 204 across it's ALL down after just two rolls. That is the power of this system and also Why most people don't like it. Takes real stones to come down after just two rolls and sit out the rest of a monster. Medansky shot himself in the foot with Craps Guru, a cheap 5 dollar book that looks like it should be at the check out counter of a Vegas grocery store. Wholly Craps (99 dollars) is a much better and complete book. As a matter of fact I lent my copy to Americraps last night fully knowing that he will hate it. I always seem to be taking down my bets when Americraps is Pressing to High Heaven. He wins more money, I win more often. We will go to our graves fighting over who is right and who is wrong. Thing is, We both are.

David Medansky's Greatest Craps Guru book
is written as a novel with outtakes of the meat from his earlier Craps Wager Plan(s)
This book is presented as if a mentor volunteered to tutor a dice novice to a game plan
presenting a stronger opportunity to win ......

{Greater to walk as a winner than a typical blind "Craps Shot " equipped with zero win plan }.

My thoughts are that in addition to being a consistent winner at casino craps.
David Medansky desires to,
one day ,
write The Great American Novel
