Lay bet the 9 CO
Seen a guy do extremely well laying the 9 for 120 for comeout +2-3 rolls. Getting paid 80 for every come out seven and early outs...
What do you think? Gamble worth it on 5-9?

The House Edge is less on the 4/10.

It's like everything Dan, it will work until it doesn't. I'm sure the same guy has been whacked plenty of times using the same strategy.
Re: Lay bet the 9 CO
I bet tho he has put out a quick 1000$ in an hour and left... Found it interresting!
Re: Lay bet the 9 CO
If you hit a good stop loss strategy, odds are what % on that bet?

When the vig is paid up front, the house edges are:
6/8 4.00%
5/9 3.23%
4/10 2.44%
When the vig is paid on a win only , the house edges are:
6/8 2.27%
5/9 2.00%
4/10 1.67%

I am not sure I am right about this next post I am going to make . Here is something for you to think about.
The Don't Pass (and even the Don't Come) bettor is at a 22.2 % disadvantage on the comeout roll. (That is a figure that has stuck in my head for a long time. I`m not sure if it is something I read or something I was told years ago.)
So if that per cent is true , compare that to laying whatever number you want on the comeout roll only, to help make your decision . Usually when players hedge bets , they are hedging a good bet , one with a lower house edge, with a bad bet , one with a higher house edge.
But before making that decision , we need to confirm that 22.2% figure.

I think you are referring to the 8 ways to lose on the come-out 8/36 = 22.22%, doesn't mean it is at a 22.22% disadvantage though as there are also 3 ways to win = 8.33%.
So just taking the come-out in isolation that gives about 13.89% disadvantage, but then of course you are always favourite if you get an number established.

You are right London shooter . I am still trying to find the article where I got that 22.2% from . Years ago I read a lot of Alan Krigman`s articles . I think that is his name . Tonight , I shall look through some of those. I`ve got boxes of old craps articles that Gail is trying to get me to throw away . We are attempting to become minimalists. (maybe in 50 years).
Looking at the House edge %s on the lay wagers , when the vig is paid upfront vs. the vig paid on a win only . it is amazing the difference a dollar makes. Kinda like making a $5 big 6 or 8 wager instaed of Placing the 6 or 8 for $6 .

Oh, DF. Not to hijack your thread, but I have been cleaning the garage for two weeks. I have about 15 boxes of books for good will and three boxes of gambling books for Heavy. Yea, I, too do not want me kids to sort this mess out. I have always loved and hoarded books but it is time to let go.
Your craps plan? The dice gods laughed.

shootitall, are you getting ready to meet your maker?
Why give your gambling books to heavy, he has more books on gambling then you do. give them to new members on this board that need them to learn how to gamble.

LXXIII Sunday. Heavy and I have already discussed this and came to a decision. You all will know it when he gets a "roundtuit" probably in November. I have given away a lot of gambling books already. I have loaned some that became given. I be done with chasing as I am quite comfortable with my playing now. It works most of the time and when it doesn't small loss. I have played it live for several years, did wincraps and it works for me. The gambling books are a waste of time and money.

I have no idea how to scan anything.
I think the article I am thinking about was one from Alan Krigman . I think he and Heavy at one time wrote articles for Casino City News.

I never have to set for a seven, just need to throw the dice hard on the angle bottom of the wall and it seems to get a shitload of 7.tonybugs wrote:3.23 House edge ain't bad. Now set for 7 with a SRR of 3 and your even!

But do you ever notice when you try to throw a 7, you don't! That's why practice with the all seven set! Don't leave it to chance!
