Down to your Last Four Red Chips - What do you do?

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Down to your Last Four Red Chips - What do you do?

Post by heavy » Thu Dec 15, 2016 4:01 pm

Simple proposition. We'll assume you bought into a $5 game with no pre-planned loss limit. Your intent is to walk with a win or to lose the entire buy in. The buy in was $200 and you've lost 90% of of it. You are down to your last four red chips. How do you bet them? NOTE: Putting them in your pocket and walking away is NOT an option. Suggestion?

Since this player has no money management skills or doesn't give a damn anyway..might as well wait for a snakeeyes and go $5 horn high yo
on the next roll. Or, because this must be a dead cold situation..$5 on the DC and if it moves to a 5 or 9..put $15 lay odds. Gotta take where this player is coming from already if they've let it get this far. Are they suddenly going to get "real" about it? People will say they have this plan to either win a ton or lose everything, but they really mean win a ton. Lose everything is not where they care to go.

Put the $20 on the 12 and set dice for the straight sixes. I would never do this on myself but I did do it for another guy that asked me. First the 12 showed and collected $600. He bet the rest of the crap #'s and the 3 came up on the next roll. He collected $1,300 and left the table.

Hmmm. Two completely unexpected answers. Not the path I'd take, but hey! Why not? Who else wants to jump in?

$5 on each hard way. Parlay any first hit. If you do hit on the parlay then you can get the hell out of dodge with a profit and get your more sensible betting head on for your next session.

Assuming I was the shooter, 5 on pass line and set a point then 6 dollars on 6 and 8. First hit place bet any other number on the line. Repeat until line is full then press. Wait for green chips on line then regress and start over. Go big or go home.

However if I had just lost 180 dollars and was left with 4 red chips, I would donate it to the table and go find a pinnacle game. I don't need to be at a craps table

I would place $5 on the DP, If I get knocked off, next shooter, same thing. Say I lost the first DP, I got 15 left, $5 on the DP and if I got a point, $5 on each the big 6 & 8. However, I cannot imagine me losing 90%. Must have been the free Heinekens.
Now, if I got a point on the first $5, then place the 6 & 8 $6 each, then $1 each on 6,8, and 10 or 4 hardway, just a guess there. Let 'er rip.

Here's one. $20 to Play. $5 Pass Line. $9 sevens hop. Try to toss a seven. If you toss a seven you win $45 on the hopper and $5 on the PL. Come back with another $5 on the PL and bet $15 sevens hop. Another seven wins another $75. Yeah, I know. You have to net it all out. But back to back sevens should net around $110. Now you have more than half of your original bankroll back in two rolls. Let's rock 'n roll.

If you DON'T hit that first come out seven then you have $6 left - correct odds for the five or nine. On even numbers - bet $5 odds plus a buck on the even number point - hard. Let's see what you've got.

Any other ideas?

$20 DP. Which usually means a comeout 7 or 11, lol. So if I lose go home. Win that, then another $20 DP. Do this until I lose or have $60 in the rack which gives me enough ammo for a couple rolls on the right side. I've had a few incredible recoveries over the years like this. Also have done it with a 2 step marty on the DP or the field. But as soon as I have enough to cover some numbers, it's back to the right side. It only takes one decent roll to get out of trouble.

$10 toke to the dealers and $10 left for my coffee addiction which is greater than my Craps addiction. Cause yah, I can't get a free coffee any more for my level of play.

4 options,

the stupid one: 5$dp, 3$ two way 9, 6$ hop 7, 6$ dc

The less stupid: 5$ dp, 5$dc 10$dc

The great: 10$dp, 10$ dc

The greatest: go get some pizza and come back another day.

The go big and then go home play

$5PL, $5 each on ATS

If you hit either end of the ATS you're basically back to even. Catch lightning and hit the All and you walk away with a big profit. Most likely though you flame out quickly which gives you more time to reset and refocus for another day.

Otherwise, I like the $5HW that LS suggested.

But in this case putting them in your pocket and walking away is not an option

I remember that session with Heavy. What happened was his $200 buyin was at $220 when the BTRH drink gal came by and he gave her two blacks instead of two reds and he watched his money wiggle out of sight.

$20 pass line.
If it wins, $5 pass with $34/35 odds.
If it wins, $5 pass with $30 odds and $26/27 across. Off to the races.

If I buy-in for $200 and I've lost $180 already, I've been gambling. So to continue the trend, give me a $20 Hi-Lo. What the hell.

If the intent is to recover slowly, a $5PL with $15 PL odds and go from there. Seems like a gamble either way you play it.

Since the parameters of this simulation have changed I'd put $1.00 on the firebet to buy time and then try to snag a chip off the BTRH's drink tray when she came by. If that failed $1 is a small price to pay for the view.

A couple years ago at the Rio a guy was playing a $ on the firebet to get free beers and I rolled 5 numbers. He took his $250 and disappeared.
