Horn

So there are a bunch of bets I have never made. C&E, World, Horn, any Hop bet, Ace Duece, Come bet.

I am thinking of trying the Horn bet after a horn. After going through my rolls I would be very successful with this. I know it is a dollar each, but instead of getting change, I figure I will throw the extra buck on the 12 or horn high twelve.

So my question is about how I press it. Do I say up a unit on each? Or do I wait for them to pay me they throw the amount I want to press each number back to the middle? Do I have to press them equally, or can I throw out $12 and say up $1 on 2,3, 11 and up $9 on the $12.

Horn bets are made in increments of $4. The money is spread equally on all of the horn numbers.

If you want unequal amounts on more than one horn number you must bet them individually. If you're talking only about an extra buck on a single number, that is a "horn high #" bet. For example, a $5 horn high yo bet is a $4 horn bet with the extra dollar on the 11.

In your stated example, you would press your horn $4 with a $8 bet on the 12.

The first time i played craps i had a dealer tell me the horn was a bad bet (there was a guy betting it alot so i inquired). However once i started tossing X6s it hasnt been a bad come out bet for me. Especially on 10 dollar tables. Heavy turned me on to the see a horn bet a horn, sometimes good sometimes not. I dont bet it on everyone. I sometimes bet a 4&1 horn, one for the dealers. If it hits i either toss four more and say press my horn or 5 and say press our horn.
I will also go horn high ace deuce some to bring its payout up to the 12 and 2, and the eleven gets payed on the pass line as well so i get payed about the same on all numbers.

I will also toss X6 on the comeout, but will bet a $5 world instead of a horn bet. The X6 set can also spin off a fair amount of 7's, so the world bet winds up being a push if a 7 shows and I still win on the pass line. If I toss a horn number, I'll press the world 1 or 2 units, depending on whether a 3/11 or 2/12 hit.

One of the times i played beside Heavy he introduced me to the World Hi Lo bet. I tried it the next casino trip and did quite well with numerous 55 dollar payouts. Nor really sure why quit using it other than i decided on one trip to minimize prop bets. However i continued tossing come out horns so i dropped to a 4 dollar horn instead of the 7 dollar world Hi Lo. I may re visit it on my next trip. It would have been quiet profitable in Reno and this past trip to Shreveport

I like the world on the come-out and have added the Hi lo on occasion as well and use my X6 mutant. For me I want a back - to - back hit, regardless of whether I'm on the PL or DP, so I will press up most of the winnings from that first hit in order to score on the second. A few times its been fabulous, especially if that third hit comes, alas, its been a bit infrequent of late.

Just before the Heavy One-on-One in Vegas, I took the time to reread the Mad Professor's Shooting from the Don'ts - A Journey of Opportunity. In Part 3, MP starts dissecting and detailing his Game within the Game thinking.

Here's that link: http://www.dicesetter.com/mp/dmad145dontpart3.htm

There's a lot to think about in this series where he does a lot of come-out presses on his world bet, check it out, D.N8r

PS As each Part goes, he seems to escalate as in one he talks about his $100 DP & $100 World, that'll give you several press move options.....

Okay, I'll officially state that the Horn, World, High-Low, and Hop Bets are ALL terrible bets. Typically the house edge is around 16.67%. That's a LOT of juice to overcome.

Now if you look at today's newsletter and read my trip report from Vegas you'll note that on at least three occasions back to back twelves were tossed, kicking off a total of $165 in bonus dollars for yours truly. There's no way I blew through $495 worth of prop action on the World - High/Low over the course of the weekend. It was definitely a positive return for me. But everybody is not me. That's all I have to say about that.

Hope you are reading the above Bones (I cringe whenever he bets a World)! Any craps is all that is needed, less money, no unnecessary money on numbers you already win on.

I don't seem to get that newsletter. Is it archived someplace?

There are over a year's worth of newsletters archived on the thread at that link. It's up in the announcement section above each sub board. It's just above the thread with the TOKE BOX in it. Hint hint. LOL.

Today I tossed back-to-back Yo’s on the comeout with my $5 World pressed to $15 after the first hit. The lady next to me said to the dealers “Oh, I knew that 11 was coming again, I shoulda bet it”. The dealer said “see a horn, bet a horn”.

So I figured it’s time to bump this thread, maybe that line will catch on......

Wink 😉

The dealer said “see a horn, bet a horn”
.

Echoes in my head every since i first heard Heavy say it 5 or 6 years ago.

The horns were good to me on my recent craps trip. Tossed 3 in a row several times never tossed 4 but did toss 11,12,3,7,2 for one comeout series

That works as five in a row for me; if you’re betting and pressing World on the comeout.

A few classes ago Heavy pitched me to press my World bet up on the 7; so I usually bump it a nickel. Lately with my 2/12 sniper sets, if it’s a 1-6 or 6-1 seven in the middle of a comeout string, I hit it more, generally whatever I made off the Passline. I figure those two are the closest misses to a 1-1 or a 6-6, DN8R

I also have been taught see a horn bet a horn. I will usually do a horn hi yo with an extra unit on the ace deuce and if I have been throwing field numbers I may hedge with a equal field bet. There are definitely times where it pays off.

I like the Field play as well as nearly all horn sets are also field rich. If you're setting on the comeout, know your 11/12 rich set as on the 11, your PL wins, horn/world wins and your Field wins. This is also fun where the 12 pays triple, kinda make losing the PL not hurt; while immediately turning my attention to the Tall, DN8R

The dealer sell is "they come pairs", to which I reply "They come in pairs...when they come twice."
