The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
Back in the day we had over 1000 members on the old Axis Power Craps forum. When we implemented a membership fee that number dropped to around 300 and over the next few years gradually inched back up to 400 or so. We "lost" a lot of those folks when the ProBoards site was shut down. We picked up a few folks that had been absent for awhile when we set up the Crapsfest board because they're data was buried in the database there. I sent out around 300 invitations to come on over and re-join the new Axis Power Craps forum. So far we've had around 75 players find their way here and register. Thanks for coming back, guys. I really appreciate it.
The next step is to reach out and contact the folks who have fallen through the cracks through the years. If you have any contact lists of fellow crapsters stored on your computer I'd appreciate it if you'd e-mail them and let them know the board is alive and well - and they're invited. I know many of you keep up with folks you've met through the board through the years. If they haven't made it over here yet then reach out to them. Also, if you meet any new folks that you think fit our "profile" along the way - send them on. Let's see if we can restore this forum to it's former glory.
Thanks

I concur with Big Ben. Your new website is 100% better than the previous one. It's super fast. Congratulations on your new website. You put in a lot of hard work, but it was worth it.

Well, this is my daily post asking for your help in rebuilding the forum. There are basically three things that make a forum like this work. Participation by checking in often and reading the latest posts - Participation by posting your comments, criticisms, betting strategies, toss tips and trip reports - and Spreading the word by telling your fellow crapsters that Axis Power Craps is back.
We broke through the 150 member mark last night. Next increment I'm "officially" looking for is 200, but I'd really like to see us hit 250. If you have any dice related e-mail groups or forums you participate in I'd appreciate a recommendation and a little aid in recruiting new members.
Thanks in advance for helping us return the forum to its former status. With your help this will once again be the number one craps discussion group on the web.

Thought I'd bump this post back up to the top and ask you guys to be sure to invite your craps pals to join the forum. If you are a member of Facebook and have a bunch of crapster pals there please post a link to this site. We're actively recruiting new participants in the forum.

Re: The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
Continuing the "quest" thread - we're still trying to rebuild the forum by gathering up as many of our mis-placed old-timers as possible and adding a few newbies along the way. If you have dice pals who are not members of the forum then I invite YOU to invite THEM to "come on over to our place." And if you are in touch with any of the old-timers who have yet to make an appearance on the forum - please invite them back as well. We're still trying to break the 200 member mark. Around 25 more members will get us over the hump. Give us a hand! Thanks.

Dave, it is genuinely great to see you back here. I missed you, we all missed you, and the dice-influencing community certainly missed you too.
Welcome back!

Welcome back Dave!
Plan your play...and...PLAY that PLAN! Not the casino's plan. Not the dealer's plan. Not the other player's plan. Not other Board members' plan. YOUR plan! Own it and do it!!!
Re: The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
Once again, I'll bump this thread up a bit. A few weeks ago I sent a blast e-mail out to former members (of the old APC site and the old Crapsfest site) in an effort to recapture some of our former members. We were cruising along with just under 200 members on the forum at that time. Since then we've added about twenty new members, and my goal of seeing 250 by year end seems a whole lot more attainable than it did then.
Members, please remind your craps pals that we're back in a new location and invite them so sign on and join in the conversation.
Guests, we're running a big tent here so feel free to come on in.

Re: The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
Well, I went to sleep at the wheel again, folks. We surpassed that 250 member mark and now have 252 registered members. Thanks for signing on, guys and gals. Now let me work on a little math here. 252 registered members. 23 regular posters. Works out to something like 9.1% active participation. Lot of folks reading not a lot of folks sharing thing like betting tips, trip reports, and Dylanfreak sightings. What I'd call "a lot of suck but not a lot of blow." Yeah, there's ANOTHER line someone will mis-quote me on. Well, what the hell. "See a horn - bet a horn." There. I said it.
Meanwhile, back at the ranch. Next goal - 300 members. Maybe we can get the number of posters up to 27. Maybe we'll have to re-implement the old "post of the month" contest or something. Or, I could do like my competitors and create 20 - 30 sock puppets to churn up some activity. Nah, not going to do that. We have one Anonymous Sock Puppet on the forum. That's enough.
Anyway, welcome to each and every one of you. Thanks for thinking enough of us to sign on the forum. You GUESTS out there who haven't signed up yet - sign up NOW so you to can be victims of this kind of abuse. Hey, you think THIS is bad - you should see the stuff I post on the members-only sections of the board.

Re: The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
I could do with a friend or two. After all, socks (and therefore sock puppets) usually come in pairs. Think "famous" pairs like Abercrombie and Fitch, Ben and Jerry, the Captain and Tenille (not the Arm), Dumb and Dumber . . . wait . . . I think those two guys are sock puppets on another site.
Well, what to do? Heavy hasn't taken me out of the sock drawer in so long that I've taken to running with a new posse. All I need now is a little bling and I'll be on the down low with my new pals from the hood. New adventures from the cool end of the table, coming soon.

Re: The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
Hi - newbie on the board but old time setter. Just found the site by searching for dice setting last night and looking forward to some interesting conversation. I set left die 5 on the top, 4 facing me, right die 4 on the top and 6 facing me. Have been using the set for atleast 3 years replacing the hardway set because I got 7 when one die went forward and one die went backwards. Have been sucessful using this set. Looking forward - 5with4
Re: The Quest for Old-Timers (and Newbies)
5with4 - now I understand your "handle." I was wondering about that when you registered. Turn that set over and you'll have the same set I use. I am a huge fan of mutant sets. I adopted mine a few years ago after struggling with a single face pitch issue with the right die for years. Instead of working on the ring-finger thing any more I switched and started "playing to my slice." Amazing how that works. Anyway, welcome to the forum. You'll find a lot of good guys around here. Be sure to use the hook-up forum if you want to get together with some of the guys for a little "team" play.
