Re: I need a simple Black Jack Strategy.

Learning "Basic Strategy", which is the optimal play for each hand vs the dealer's card, will save you a lot of money in the long run. Then just vary your bets as needed to make the game fun and your cost of play will be less than craps, and much less than slots. https://wizardofodds.com/g...

Re: Best Bet to win $100

$50 each on the 4&10 would be pretty low vig. $55 if it's still a $2 vig and then you're covered.

Negative vig

I have a system wherein some players can place bets with a negative vig. That means that if you bet $10, for example, the casino will pay you a dollar in addition to the fair payout. To receive the system by email, send .001 bitcoin to... ha ha, just kidding. Let’s say you bet $5 on the four. It hit...

Re: How do YOU handle the Five and Nine?

The difference with any of these is that you don't just pay the tax one time on your $500 buy-in, but you pay it on every winning decision. You may wager that $500 10-100 times before the nights done, so it's very possible for the total vig collected to be greater than your buy-in even with a small...

Re: How do YOU handle the Five and Nine?

Who changes their set according to the point or keeps the same set regardless? I almost always use the crossed-twos. Whatever the point is, I'm probably placing at least the even numbers, so there's no reason to change. The exception would be if I was playing low stakes and had just one or two bets...

Re: How do YOU handle the Five and Nine?

Most of my play is at tables where you can buy the 5&9, so as long as you are willing to bet in increments of $20, the vig is as good as any. This makes it hard to adjust my play in tighter markets like Las Vegas. (A wise man might ask why I bother to play in Las Vegas, and I would tell that man...

Re: Blackjack without busting.

Move to a different table if nobody is getting any Black Jacks. I might increase my bet if I'm not seeing a lot of faces and aces... If you're playing one on one and getting a lot of 20/20 pushes with 4 face cards it would also be a good idea to move. This one we can agree on! If the tens are gone,...

Re: Free Bet Blackjack

Around Albuquerque I see the usual $5 minimum. That sounds really odd, where was it? Must be a popular game there.

Re: What are the odds?

I wonder if the maths has ever been done for ATS and repeater bets via a reduced payoff but no re-set on a CO 7.....as we see with the Firebet? If they just turned ATS off on the comeout then the odds could stay the same, seems to me. But if the casino is making $$ per roll from that bet, they don'...

Re: What are the odds?

What do you think of taking the comp chips, ( i usually get $80 of comp chips a month at my favorite casino) and using them for some of the higher Vig bets?.... lately Ive been putting $5 hard ways bet with these with fair luck. If you can only play a chip once, and lose it whether you win or lose,...

Re: Black Jack Tournament

Stanford Wong has a good book called "Casino Tournament Strategy." He basically recommends the conservative strategy others have suggested: bet small but stay within striking range of finishing, then play aggressively at the end if necessary. There is a lot to think about on those last few...

Re: Buying the 5 and 9

I first encountered this in the MS gulf coast casinos, and take some credit for importing the rule to Albuquerque,NM :-)

At Santa Ana, they charge $1 vig up to $30. Isleta and Route 66 charge $1 up to $20, all collected after the bet wins.

Re: Gamblit Skill-based slots

Regarding the need for skill, the game is more like poker. On any given hand, the house is going to get their vig, but the player who gets the rest is up for grabs. Sometimes all the players need the same card and so it's a matter of who spots the card first and hits the button the fastest. Sometime...

Re: Bubble Craps

Does anyone know why most Bubble Craps machines (at least the ones I see) say they don't give points toward comps on those machines? Is it just because you can bet Pass and Don't Pass at the same time and still gain comps? The problem isn't the low risk, it's the low vig. Slot machines may have a 1...

Gamblit Skill-based slots

Got my first taste of the new skill-based slots when they showed up at Route 66 in Albuquerque. There are two games, I think they are called Cannonbeard and Grab Poker. The rules and strategy for the two games are quite different, but the central component is that it requires 2-4 players, everyone p...

Re: How do YOU handle Crapless Craps?

I was at the Grand (Harrah's) several years ago and they were charging the vig up front for the extreme numbers then. Maybe they didn't later. I would have considered come/put bets, though. The table was longer so I never really felt like risking a lot of action. Is there anyone with crapless craps ...

Re: Counting the cards

If the deck starts to produce the high value cards in the top of the shoe - is there any " significant difference " in the production of the high cards at this time as opposed to later in the shoe after the production of the little cards ? Aside from the obvious fact that you do NOT know ...

Re: Counting the cards

Does anyone have an answer to the question though on betting based on running count before or after subtracting hands for that? Your running count is based on all the cards you have seen, no adjustments or calculation comes in to play. Your true count is the running count divided by all the cards t...

Re: Have you reached "The Long Run" yet?

To me, the long run is when your win/loss is significant enough that it isn't likely to be overcome by a streak of bad/good luck. For a while, I was up over 5k and felt like I had made it. Then, through some bad luck and careless play at tables I didn't know with a higher vig, I'm now down almost 7k...

Re: Interesting Study

If the study was on The Dont Pass side of the game , the study would have come out basically the same. There is little difference whether playing PL or DPL and taking or laying odds. The difference that taking odds would make is how long it took the house advantage to overcome the variance of the g...
