Re: Don’t Pass with hardway hedge
I understand it’s not brutally rational, but if I am playing the don’t at, say, $25, with 2x or more odds laid, I will hedge a hardway for $5 at least. Takes the sting out of losing a pretty big bet. Even giving up some edge to the house, I figure it allows me to stay in the game and keep riding the...

Re: Anyone heard of Trinity Method posted on koganinja site?
Capn-Lou, yes all our casinos have been closed down for a week now along with pubs and restaurants and any shop/business deemed non essential. Unlike what your King Canute claims, there's no way the UK is open for business come Easter. In my head I'm already expecting most of the summer to be a wri...

Re: Anyone heard of Trinity Method posted on koganinja site?
All systems are nonsense at craps Enthusiast. It's an easy statement to make. Anybody can post up any system they want and me, Irish, Heavy and anybody who knows the house edge of all the various bets can tell you how much on average you are going to lose following said system. Of course, there are...

THIS is why I love this blog / forum. I have read and reread this thread three times and I am still not sure I understand what everyone is saying or trying to say. Thank you all.

Re: How Do YOU Handle the Pass Line Bet?
It really matters to me what the odds limits are. At a 10x or higher casino, I bet the minimum and risk more money on the odds. I will “stack and not rack” the second come-out 7, or any yo. At a traditional 3-4-5x place it really depends on how things tend to be going. I’ll bet more to get a larger ...

Re: The biggest casino of them all
Hard to swallow. But this happens every 7 or so years, just took longer this time. The market was overpriced and needed some excuse to correct. Stay the course. This too shall pass!

Re: John Patrick
John's book, 'Craps' was my start to the game. I read it before I ever played. Early on I used the Patrick system successfully. His 'Advanced Craps' was next. I learned a lot from him. Sharpshooter's and Yuri K's books took me to the next level. Same for me re John Patrick. Before I became a seriou...

Re: Pressing Your Bets
I'm constantly tinkering with press / regress strategies. I have a fairly simple 6-8 and a fairly simple 5-9. I try to press early to cover my action with a win or two, and then start taking profits aggressively. Once I get to $120 (on the 6-8) or $150 on the 5-9 I'll drop down to $30 or $25 levels ...

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet
Setting aside the pros and cons of the A-T-S for a second, let me ask you all a question about the practicalities. I'm thinking I made a mistake last weekend. I was in Vegas for a funeral and had only a little time to gamble. I was on the west side so I went up to Red Rock. A pretty low key place bu...

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet
Well, truth is I don't know the answer to that, Lou. Although these bets have a vig in the 20% range, they slow the game down to a crawl. You'd have to do the math on the speed of a full table with the bet - and without the bet - then look at the presumed win for the house each way. Of course, they...

Re: The All, Small or Tall Bet
While I admit to betting the A-T-S on occasion, I also hate how it slows the game down. But in the grand scheme of things, don't those bets and indeed all prop bets and the ridiculous vigs the casino earns on them effectively subsidize the much fairer and reasonable bets that we all prefer - the tru...

Those of you familiar with various Vegas casinos: can you tell me which otherwise worthwhile spots charge the vig on a buy bet only from a winning bet?

Re: How Do YOU Maximize YOUR Return on Dealer Tokes?
I am with PVV, If I am winning, I want the dealers to win, it matters not who is shooting.. For myself, I always place a tip after making a regression. The staff begin to understand what you are doing quickly and anticipate your move. I described this on a regression thread. If running a progressio...

Re: What are the Odds?
To analogize it to football (American), most of the time I'm Alex Smith of the Chiefs. Low-roller, conservative, cautious, "game manager." But every once in a while I go all Favre. Usually when I'm chasing losses. Even then, though, I will give my alter ego the hook if he's throwing too ma...

Re: OK if the don't better cheers his 7-out wins?
I'm in the don't-cheer-if-you-are-playing-the-don't camp. To me, it's just one of those things you shouldn't do. And there's a practical side to it, too. I've found that when I'm rolling and see a don't player betting opposite of me, it tends to cause me to really focus and seem to roll with more pr...
