I need a simple Black Jack Strategy.

Believe it or not, craps is not the only game in the casino. Savvy players have a back-up plan for when their craps game is off. If Heavy isn't winning at Craps you're likely to find him playing Baccarat, Blackjack, or even Roulette. If the table games aren't working out he may even take a cigar break in the high limit slot area for a little hit-and-run action. But just like craps - you have to plan your play and play your plan. If you have a question on slots, video poker, carnival games or any table games other than craps, this is the place to post. Let's hear about the games you play when you're not playing craps! What's your game? What's your strategy? How's that working out for you? Inquiring minds want to know!

I need a simple Black Jack Strategy.

Post by chuckindice » Thu Jun 09, 2022 8:39 am

My wife and I enjoy playing craps together. But one of our dealer friends has been dealing BJ lately, so she started spending some time at the BJ table and chatting with our friend.

Since we are on a date (I usually play mornings when I'm in shooter-mode), I go sit down and play Black Jack, too.

Before my last few trips, I hadn't played anything but Craps in years. I understand the basics of BJ, but I wonder if there are any basic strategies that would help me pass the time and maybe walk away with more money for craps?

This super simple B J "Game Plan" may raise the hackles of the
SERIOUS Black Jack (aka Twenty-One) crowd.

Two varieties with near-zero card counting or Next Card Guessing

(PLAN ONE )
if your first two(2)cards total ELEVEN (11) or less DRAW ONE CARD and HOLD

Should YOUR first two cards total ELEVEN or GREATER ...JUST HOLD...

(PLAN TWO)
Should your first two cards total less than 12 TWELVE
JUST HOLD & perhaps THE DEALER WILL BUST
OR
draw one card , then just hold...

Should THE DEALER BUST , YOU Win

You asked for a NO STRESS simple to play B J/ '21 game plan...

Your hand may outweigh the DEALER'S Hand
or
THE DEALER MAY BUST
or
YOU LOSE THE USD $ value of your wager

( You also have the option of just sitting a hand or two in a row)

Hope this helps

just me saying

Learning "Basic Strategy", which is the optimal play for each hand vs the dealer's card, will save you a lot of money in the long run.

Then just vary your bets as needed to make the game fun and your cost of play will be less than craps, and much less than slots.

Yes. Learn the basic strategy. Absolute must. Also know when to leave the game. If the dealer gets 14 and hits a 7..then gets a blackjack, then a 16 and hits a 5..And you are getting 13, 12 (And you hit a 10 for 22) or you split 8's and get a 5 and a 7 and the dealer wins again. Get out. It can be a game of attrition which means you have to either leave or withstand garbage..which means a big buy-in. And withstanding garbage hands means you have to win a lot just to get even. This is the worst case scenario of course. But IMO it's good to know the worst and how to recognize it.

Basic strategy is the way to go. Pick up a cheat card for it and bring it to the table with you. The casinos generally don't mind if you use one while you're playing. In fact you can probably by the cheat card in their gift shop:)

Basic strategy is not hard to pick up. A couple hours of practice with it should burn in a good portion of it in to your brain. There are lots of apps out there that will let you practice for free and some will even give feedback on how your decisions are compared with Basic strategy.

I agree, basic strategy is the way to start out. Step two. Avoid 6-5 payout blackjack. Just don't play it. Step three. Don't play tables with continuous shuffle machines. Only play tables that are hand dealt where the cards are discarded into a card tray, not into a continuous shuffle machine where they're reshuffled back into the deck to be re-dealt. Step four. Learn a simple count strategy like Easy Opp. Google it. You can literally learn it in 45 minutes. It doesn't require counting the entire deck - only the last hands dealt. Easy peasy and it does give you a small advantage over the game.

UNHH!! In his first B J book, JP points out that in splitting A s, 7 out of 13 times you will have a less than "average" hand. This is one of many reasons JP gives for NOT attacking the power cards (9-A) as called for in the accepted basic strategy. BC hates DD or splitting to lose. UNNH!!

UNHH!! Two conservative B J authors have stated that FOUR consecutive losses is the signature of a losing shoe. BC does not care to play vs a losing shoe. SO "three in a row-"TIME TO GO". UNHH!!

I'm going to add a Step Five to my list in my earlier post. Once you learn everything else I posted about - learn how to play a Paroli approach. Simply put - that means increase your bet by one unit on every win. On every loss go back to a table minimum bet. HOWEVER, remember that when you are using the Easy OPP and the count gets in your favor you want to toss out a larger bet. This is the point where a bit of "acting" has to come into play to cover the fact that you are counting. It doesn't hurt if you bring a drink to the table with you and nurse it and pretend that you're just a bit tipsy when playing. Occasionally, when you have a 10 value card facing up, slap the table with your hand and say something like, "Slap me an ace!" Occasionally complain about how bad the cards are and how you are losing. And when the deck is in your favor and you toss out that big bet do everything you can to draw attention to it. Slap it out there and call out, "Time for a GET BACK BET!" The pit will just think you 're another drunk who's losing and you sneak a big bet by him while counting cards.

I don't play BJ much anymore, but when I did I also adopted JP's method of splitting 5's vs. a dealer's 6, rather than double down.

Greetings members,

I do not play 21/ blackjack...the first thing I do when I hit the casino is the following, ask the blackjack dealer to give me a $ 5 dollar buy in

Then if dealt Only a 13 or less, take one CARD and stay...If I lose that hand...walk over to the craps table and play craps.

If that hand is a winning hand, from the 10 dollar Win take 5 dollars and give it to the dealer as a tip AND
walk over to craps table and play craps.

Their you have the best system in the USA. and Puerto Rico.

That system is free for all members on this Board.

luck at the casino.

Another really basic strategy I’ve heard is follow the same rules as the dealer, hit and stand on 17 or higher
