$50 No 4 or 10 vs $44 Inside
Two of my favorite bets. The other day i got to thinking they really are very close to the same bet. $44 Inside: 18/6 and No 4 or 10: 6/2. Both bets you are betting more $ than you will win, $44 to get $14 and $50 to get $24, after vig.
If you lose its, a $6 difference between the two bets. $44 Inside, I like to regress to $6: 6 & 8. $2 win and proceed from there. So, there is a difference with $44 Inside you can leave $12 on the table with the possibility of winning more. The No 4 or 10 seems very efficient. Wait 4 - 6 rolls, make your lay bet, wait for 7 Out. All money off the table. I like the No 4 or 10 for Randies, but i don't Martingale. Usually 2 whacks and i back off.
Am I thinking right, or am i missing something here?

Re: $50 No 4 or 10 vs $44 Inside
The only thing that bothers me about $50 no four or ten is when the four or ten roll. Statistically it makes no difference which numbers you roll. You're paying the same vig. How about $40 no five or nine? Just a thought. Anyone else want to jump in?

Hate to be a pest but $40 no 5/9 is not a proper bet unless you are saying $39 with $1 vig paid up front.

Noah, that's what he meant. He just had too big of a supper today and those carbs are messing with his neurons firing properly.

Noah has been quick to jump on me of late. Perhaps I hurt his feelings somewhere back up the line. Beats me. I'm a big boy. I can take it.

Sorry Heavy, not jumping on you in particular. That error on 3/2 payoffs on 5/9 is my pet peeve and I've seen too many people in Tunica mess that up.
Upsets me as much as people betting the corner 6/8, which I guess you can't do in NJ.

You can put your chips in that spot in New Jersey, but it will be a DP bet.

Laying the 4/10 is one of my most-est favorite bets! I lay $41.
What I have found as the most successful strategy is to wait for the shooter to hit the number 3 times before laying it. I jumped the gun, early this past week, and quickly found myself down $100. Took a break, reminded myself to wait 3 times, and went about picking up $300 over the next couple of sessions.
If you want to play each hand for the 4/10, to stay on the positive side you need to at least be prepared to replace the bet twice, if need be. Using a martingale pattern. Going to 3 replacements (4 bets in a single shooter) ups your chances, but that 4th bet is for $1000 (close to the table max).
The progression would be:
1) $40 to get $20.
2) $120 to get $60, less $40 lost gets you $20
3) $360 to get $180, less $160 lost gets you $20
4) $1000 to get $500, less $500 gets you $0
And you still have to account for the vig.
Over 8 hours, approx. 40-60 shooting rounds (playing RRs), By waiting 3 before I bet, I was only knocked off once. I would estimate I made probably 10-12 bets. I would be willing to play any bet that wins 9 out of 10 times...

Re: $50 No 4 or 10 vs $44 Inside
There was a guy playing at the table for about an hour. The table was choppy. This was how he played while at the table. He would wait for a 4 or 10 to be rolled and then lay it for a 1000, only one number. He did get knocked off his 4 or 10 a few times. Occassionally, he did play the DP w/odds but the amount wager was not more than 300. When he was done and left the table, he colored up for 7k. A large bankroll must be in order to play like this way.
