Table Mojo and My Shooting

At the Casino table recently my first hand was non eventful. Didn't make a point, but rolled enough numbers to come out a few bucks ahead on my 2 unit: 5,6&8, 1 unit Field, Iron Cross Regression. Roll felt OK. Dice start the around the table, about 7 or 8 turns before they get back to me. Nothing really out of the ordinary, I'm not betting on RRs so far, then for some dumb ass reason I think, lets give the ol' $6, 6&8 a try. You got it 7 OUT. DAMN. No more RANDIES! Then the next 4 shooters are basically PSO, and although I didn't bet, I get the chill when the dice come back to me.
So, my plan for this next roll (mine) was to up my layout to 5 unit: 5,6&8, 3 unit Field. But now the 4 previous PSOs are in my head so I drop back and do my first layout again.
I go on to have a good hand, make two points and a bunch of numbers including a couple of Double Pay Field#s.

My question is, do you get spooked by PSOs that immediately proceed the dice getting back to you at the table?

Do the dice at your casino have memories? Or is it just you that remember those PSO's?

If you are prepared thru practice nothing should spook you when you pick up the dice. Just like when you putt the golf ball...it will either go in the hole or miss. When you pick up the dice either you will have a good roll or you won't. Accept that and carry on without fear.

Let me add another twist to Realtime’s golf analogy, RollMeEasy.

Let’s say that the two of you were out practicing on the putting green working on your ultra-short game, but you only have one golf ball that the two of you have to share.

~He putts first from 3-feet, and misses the cup. In fact he ends up five-putting that three-footer.

Now it’s your turn.

~Do you let your own ultra-short putting-skills stand on their OWN merit…or…does the fact that HE played so poorly with that same golfball now “indicate” a ‘trend’ that means YOU are probably going to do just as poorly (or maybe even worse) than he did?

~I say that you should putt the way you know how to putt, and totally disregard what HE did with that same virtually-perfect ball. Play to your TALENTS and don’t let your pos-ex approach succumb to anyone else’s talent-dearth.

~While it’s certainly true that many others here will tell you that the “trend” is now strongly and squarely against you, and that your ‘normal’ positive-expectation chances are probably totally shot to hell; common sense should tell you not fall victim their superstitions and false notions unless you also want to follow the same non-accretive path as they do.

If shooting from the rightside I focus more.

LOL! MP, Trying to remember the last time I was in a 4 some, walked up to the green and a comment was made about how cold or hot the green was!
Like anything else there is a lot of opinion on how this game works, ie:

Charting: which is it, each roll is independent, or the last 3 rolls were PSO, trend is negative?

Shooter hits 2 PL Points: Bet the Don't, hes that much closer to 7 Out, or he just made 2 PL Points get on the PL with him?

After a lot of information overload and playing fairly regular, I'm starting to figure out what works for me and what doesn't. Also, some days you're the windshield, some days the bug! The quicker you can figure out which it is that day, the better.

You guys are definately cutting down my learning curve!

When I get the dice after a few PSOs I feel no pressure. The table is cold. Nobody expects much from my throw. This is when I seem to have my best rolls. I look forward to this situation.

I will say this about charting - had we played the way our charting suggested (instead of being eternal optimists and believing each and every shooter at the table was going to catch a hand) we would not have had a losing session. When the universe gives you sevens - don't try to paddle the boat upstream. Go with the flow.

Thanks Steve. I see what you are saying. I see a lot of references about charting. Is there a procedure to charting a table, or is it just an observation thing? When I walk up to a table, I do take time to look at chips in the rails, type & size of bets being made, general demeanor at the table.

And for random game...There is 'the system'.
When you're off more than 50% of the time, it stands to reason the from time to time you will look brilliant when the devil shows and you are 'off'.
That is absolutely not a criticism....In fact, there is something to be said about it.

Previous PSO's when I get the dice are no concern .. The worry I sometimes have is when a really nice roll has preceded me, now that's some pressure !
