Don't you just love shooting accuracy?

I believe there is alot to be said for it because I have personally played on certain tables that have "sweet spots", on a good night if you can achieve the correct toss onto that spot you tend to overall have better hands than if you toss even a few inches to either side of it. What's really ugly is when you have almost nothing to gauge that spot by and have to guess at it.

I agree. I aim for a spot not a zone. I might call it my landing zone but it is a spot. I do not always hit it but that is what I am aiming for.

Excellent observations, and spot on. (pun intended)

.
Seems a few seasons back there was a "DART TOSS" of sorts that was all the rage plus
a bag of
pretzels*
The reviews were mixed and the jury may still be out..

+1 to what H stated.
Excellent Posts.
Also, what some folks do is they use a piece of sewing thread, and make a circle on their Practice Table/Practice Rig, and toss into that.
Some folks toss into a plastic (angled) candy container.
Good Luck,
BigBen
Give me Box-Numbers, or give me death! LOL...
Hey, is that a Dice-Barrel in your pocket, or are you just happy to see me?

AD,
Do you ever shop at Costco?
I haven't in awhile but they used to sell red licorice and I think pretzels in big plastic containers. After you eat the goodies you can cut down the plastic container to any height you need. It worked pretty well for a target container.

You GOT it, Bro!
I'll look around for you.
Hey RR,
When I go to Costco, I MUST make sure that I eat BEFORE I go there... Or else... LOL...
It reminds me of the Seinfeld episode, when Kramer feeds the Smart-Carriage Horse "BEEF-A-RONI"! LOL...
This is the type of candy container I'm referring to.

Re: Don't you just love shooting accuracy?
I have to agree. When tossing a lengthy hand, it is difficult to remain focused after a significant period of time. There sometimes seems to be too much "noise" (interruptions, getting short-sticked, cocktail waitresses, etc) or delays in the game that your mind tends to wander. I seem to catch myself when it's too late, after I see I've released the dice too early, or forgot to aim for my target spot... boom! 7-out.tabletop123 wrote:In other words, I used to just do the old Trust-your muscle-memory toss & just try toss to a landing ZONE, but I have come to find (FOR ME) it tends to make me LAZY & just toss with no EXACT purpose.

Yup, that's exactly why I DON'T use a plastic container... They're dice-destroyers.
Some guys put a towel in the containers, but if the dice hit the edge of the container...

I picked up 5 new casino dice for about $9. I use 2 of the dice until they feel wore out and then I change out. I like the plastic container idea.BigBen wrote:Yup, that's exactly why I DON'T use a plastic container... They're dice-destroyers.
