My casino has a new sign on its tables.

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

My casino has a new sign on its tables.

The local CET casino has recently posted a sign on all the craps tables. I can't remember the exact words (if you are not betting we will ask you to step back) I witnessed the boxman tell guys who were waiting throw the dice and did not bet on anyone else to step back and give up his spot. This is only happened when the table was packed.

If you think about it it makes sense. We usually bet a $1 fire bet on every shooter or possibly $4 on the hard ways if they start showing just to be sure we can be in the game and hold our spot. Never got any heat from the box but we do sometimes get heat from players looking for a spot at the table. And one time we won $250 on a 5 point fire. ;)

I agree. Toss out a $6 Don't Pass. Get a point established. If it looks like a hand is going to develop then place the six and eight for $6 each - SIA's old "one hit - can't miss" strategy. Put it on auto-pilot until it's your turn.

Just a FYI, some casino's won't take the firebet without at least you making a minimal line bet

I will put $5 on the passline and use the 5 count to determine if I'm going to put odds or play some place bets. Never had the dealers complain about this. I have seen cherokee get so busy that it was 3 deep waiting to get to the table and the dealers didn't say a thing as long as you had some money on the table.

GREETINGS PAPPY.

Can you tell us, what is the % win on EVERY 100 firebet bets.

I'm asking because depending on the % WE CAN come up with a system to bet the firebet bet.

.
Been to a few casinos with that policy ...related to a rail bird or two stealing a player's chip
and/or "street hustling "chips from active players...could be something related....W C

WildChild is right. If you take up valuable space at the table and are not going to play then you just might be a rail-thief. We have seen a few. Also the groups of three and four who hover around the corners with $10 worth of chips in their handsAll are trouble and prbably just waiting to stick out a hand in the middle of the throw. I say ALL BE GONE who do not play-for real! Take the lessons and watching and drunk escapades to the lounge- or slot machines - or better to the kiddie games!!

If the casino requires a legitimate bet to be on the rail- I say "about time!!!" CrimsonTide

I use white chips at each end of my stack. They are bookends to my chips on the rail.

The Grand in Biloxi does not require any table action to place a fire bet. The Hardrock doesn't require any action to place the all tall small wager. Wonder who decides that crap

I was told that this rule is put into effect because of fleas who bet one dollar on the firebet and nothing else hoping for a big pay day, while tying up valuable table space that would otherwise have somebody making many more bets.

Casino Rama in Ontario also does not require a bet to place a firebet, nor does it require a PL on the prior shooter to be eligible to shoot.... just action... So I have taken to making the FB to be eligible to shoot.

on a different note I thought I would try some Blackjack today only to be told they don't sell or give away the basic strategy cards anymore... haven't for years I was told... so when I sat down and came across a hand I didn't know I asked the dealer. He told me he was not allowed to tell me what I was supposed to do. he told me I could call for a supervisor though.

Who makes up these rules?

Hi inpector,

You said- so when I sat down and came across a hand I didn't know, I asked the dealer for help.

Can you tell us what the hand was?

JAIME.

Sure the hand was an 11 vs a dealer 10 showing.

I have not played BJ in many years and was hoping to get a basic strategy card from the gift shop.
Had I known I was going to play instead of it being spur of the moment I would have printed out a basic strategy from wizard of odds.

For me the surprise was not that they didn't sell the cards anymore but instead was that the dealer either didn't know basic strategy to instruct me on it or was not allowed, as he stated, to give me instruction.

Inspector.

I ran this on almost every randie in A/C. Ran $12 DC, $2 change on outside numbers. Paid the dealers $1 on every hit. They loved us! Was a major factor in coming out well this last trip. One dealer mocked me... "what? you afraid of being arrested for gambling?". He soon shut up. Was very tempted to raise the amount to $30.

Side-note, I ran the strategy on myself also; 2-3 numbers. Found it helped me not to focus on the real bets I had working.

Thats why I like to do the ol' don't pass/place the point game. This way I get a chance of a free fire bet.

Whew. Revival of an old thread - and a good question. KN - a little help with the math - maybe a step by step description of the play?
