Say you carry over or take home $100 in chips..

Dependent on the value of your chips , you could choose from the many WAGERS offered.

Inside numbers, The SIX & EIGHT ,OUTSIDE NUMBERS

With near zero hesitation , you could PLACE BET $96 Across and a $4 Horn...

You are instantly in THE GAME with zero disruption to THE HAND.....

Depending on the FLOW ,you may or may not have need for laying POCKET CASH on the Felt.

There are a number of methods ,even buying chips at the Black Jack table and walking to craps.
( not a big favorite with Black Dealers)

Just holding out enough to get into a game is about all you need.

Become active in more than one favorite casino and you could stash back chips
and bag the chips and player card for multiple casinos...

Only play the occasional weekend junket....Make the rounds early in your visit
and carry them over as you move along in the weekend...Any you neglect to
cash will be with you for a future trip....

At times a casino may change ownership or phase out older issued chips....

Should you hold your take homes to small amounts ,the loss will be little...

You may even be able to sell them to a Casino Chip Collector

There was a time when one Vegas player I know who shall remain nameless had roughly 800 orange chips in the floor safe in his house. That's $800K. When he went to the casino to play poker or craps he'd grab twenty or thirty chips out of the safe and head out. Then the whole FinCEN thing reared its ugly head and you had to explain where all of those chips came from when you went to the cage. Next thing you knew casinos were confiscating players chips because they had no proof that they had "won" them. It went downhill from there. No more chips in the floor safe.

It would not be unusual for me to have several chips in the car simply because I didn't want to stand in line and at the cage before I left. I figured there was no reason to change them back to cash when I was simply going to buy back in the next day or next weekend at the latest.

I did notice my comp points were lower when buying in with chips instead of cash and I noticed the boxman would call out "Buying in for $350 chips" when I had chips and he'd call out "$350 cash on a card" when I had cash.

I'm not a big enough player that it really makes a difference, but I did notice the difference.

dam, was he able to cash out? I seen a sign a Jumers, saying there were changing there chips and you had untill oct to cash them in. I thought you could do that without any problems. I hear some keep chips for tax purposes.

I think if you go more than twice a month it would be okay to bring some home. I think less than one hundred would be good. Just red and green. You could get bets on the table quickly. It would not be the same chips each time though. They would never get old.

At a casino in AC, a player won over $1000 and asked for a $1000 chip. The dealer said if she gives it to him he will need to show ID at the cage to cash it in. Sounds like the money laundering/counterfeiting safeguards in play.

I seen a $1000 chip my last trip. Unfornutaly it wasn't in my rail lol. The high roller at the end of the table asked for a wagon wheel. The $1000 chip was considerably larger than the lower denomination chips.

The only chips I take home are the ones I plan on keeping as a souviner. I have a $1 chip from everywhere I've played and if I have a really good session, I'll bring a $5 chip home. Unfortunately I don't have many $5 chips lol.
