My strategy, tell me what you think.
This is my strategy that I use this on other DI and on some random-rollers if my gut tells me too (I know, I know).
1) no line bet
2) place the 6/8 for $12 each ($24 invested)
3) next 4 hits I begin to place the remaining numbers ($14/$16 invested)
4) same bet ($4 profit/$2 profit/$0 invested/$2 invested)
5) I begin to press my action but making sure I take a little cheddar for me.
I still look for clues for if I should start with two different numbers to place initially by watching how the shooter bets. After all they may know best what their signature numbers are. But hopefully they are sister numbers.
The reason I like to end up going $64 across, is that I can capitalize on a shooters (current) hot numbers, because they can change over time.
I also limit my losses if a DI happens to have a short roll as we all do. More importantly, it lets me make $$$ as I qualify a shooter.
I'm sure this strategy is nothing new so can you see any areas of improvement, or share any experience in this play or ones similar too it.

what I like to do is watch the shooters once around to get an idea if they try to shoot or just toss. no pass line bet, maybe a come bet or a hard way on the point until i gain some trust.

ts you may like this play instead its road runners inside across bet inside that 10 dollar 5&9 12 dollar 6&8 one hit then take it all down and place the sister number of the place bet for 25 when it hits go 32 across same bet one time then press as you wish.
exsample point of 5 bet all inside numbers including point lets say the 6 hits; pays 14 ok bring down all bets now put up a 25 dollar 9 thats a sister number you have 11 dollars at risk here lets say it hits go to 32 across take one hit .Then press every other lick on any number that hits.
Just throwing some thing out there different you do have 44 inside out there at risk to start off but after that you got 11 dollars out there at risk.
draw backs are point outs hurts every body or no sister hit cost you 11 bucks.

One thing I might suggest is that you consider a regression early on. The other thing I might suggest is - after you've gotten yourself into "across" mode - if a number hasn't paid off in the first 12 rolls or so - just take it down. My old saying is "it's not paying its rent."

This is what I need to do, Im bad about leaving a place bet out there to rot while another one is actually doing something.Heavy wrote: if a number hasn't paid off in the first 12 rolls or so - just take it down. My old saying is "it's not paying its rent."

Re: My strategy, tell me what you think.
Thanks Heavy.
If I have been fortunate to build up a nice amount on my place numbers, I did at times reduce my bets to $64 across. Even though I've already gotten back my initial investment and the place bets are paid for with the "casino's money", I say why risk giving it back to them. But those opportunities don't happen a lot.
As for "it's not paying it's rent" idea, I like that. I suppose I could reduce the amount (and not press it anymore), if that number is being built up slowly. Or take it down all together, if it hasn't hit at all.
Thanks operator, unfortunately, that strategy is out of my comfort range. Don't like having too much upfront in case of the PSO. Also I'm not into the idea of essentially casting a medium-sized net then shrinking it, opposed to growing my net to catch all those "yummy" box numbers.

Re: My strategy, tell me what you think.
If I'm betting on strangers, I really gotta feel good about what they look like they're tryin' to do. If I'm convinced the "DI" really has a purpose in his regimen and delivery, I'll bet more than the Heavy Heat Seeker system...
$80 inside with a P/L 6 or 8 and $25 odds, (or $30 odds on a P/L 5 or 9); take down the first place bet after it's hit, or take down all place bets and reduce odds if the shooter can't hit an inside number by the 4th roll. After the second hit on a betted number, regress to $54 across with $10 P/L odds.
Then, parlay the next immediate box number 3 consecutive times (rounding up the bet with white chips if necessary), w/ "up one unit" all all other numbers. For example, after the $54 across regression if the 5 is rolled, parlay to $24, then $60, and then take $130 on the next hit reducing the 5 to at least a $20 bet. (I'll have been collecting on all the other numbers, minus their "up one unit" bets.)
Hopefully by that time, some other numbers are coming up behind with a couple hits each. If this happens, I like to regress ALL other numbers to $5, and ply whatever excess on the signature number (5, still, in this example). (When the 5 paid the 3rd time at "~$150", I'd reduce the rest--say the 6 was at $24, the 8 was at $18, the 9 was at $20, and the 10 was at $15. I'd throw the dealer $5 and say, "make the 5 $60, and reduce the rest of the numbers to one unit bets each". [It doesn't have to be "$60"--it can be $20--whatever amount of money is leftover after all other numbers are reduced to a single unit bet. The point is, when that signature number is found, the bulk of the "across" money is concentrated there, hoping for a repeater a couple more times.])
On my last outing, I look clairvoyant, doing exactly that with the 9. (I was throwing; I hit six 9's.) I only rolled three 6's and no 8's. I didn't chicken-little out during the second 'regression' (from a $60 bet) on the 'new' 3rd repeater, the 9 paid ~$476 (I think); and I took another $130 and reduced the 9 to $10 and seven'd right after that. There was probably only ~$80 on all the other numbers when it ended. Felt good to leave less than $250 on the table and rake in about $800 on my bets. Of course it doesn't always go that way... I've had numbers die on the vine, too. But when that signature bet is payin', that system works like a well-oiled machine for me. The old way, I'd make $2-400 and leave at least half that amount in the box numbers, and it's always disheartening to leave so much behind.. but that signature number has to perform; it's a tough play to make--the consolation is, there's never a ton of bets on the table.

Re: My strategy, tell me what you think.
Ok, so on your fifth hit you make about $6 profit for an initial bet of $24. So you are betting $24 to win $6 after defying the odds four times?
Play blackjack the same way, put up $24 and tell the dealer only to pay you $6 after you have won your fifth hand in a row.

Re: My strategy, tell me what you think.
arrgy,
My underlining assumption is that the roll will be a long one, which should be more likely with someone at least attempting DI. So I am not aiming for a $6 profit and then taking my bets down. Most other pressing strategies won't yield bigger profits after several hits, this one just limits my losses.

Re: My strategy, tell me what you think.
$5 table, $300 buy in, color up at $370, for a win of $70. A 23% win in less than a half an hour. Place bets on the 5 and 9 only, (these #s were the two that were rolling), The strategy was press regress, press regress, press regress. The 2 shooters were of the spray & pray type with hands going for 6 to 8 rolls, a lot of crap #s, so I didn't want to stay too long. After I left I continued to watch from afar and what do you know, both of them left the table empty handed after another 20 minutes. The hit and run scenario is becoming my primary strategy.
Re: My strategy, tell me what you think.
You may want to consider Playing the come bet w/odds after you establish all the place numbers and cash in on some "true odds" payouts and "Last come get some" when 7 out. Cheddar is nice but Chedder w/odds and "last come get some" leaves a pleasant flavour in mouth.TheStoic wrote:This is my strategy that I use this on other DI and on some random-rollers if my gut tells me too (I know, I know).
