Craps Tournament Strategies

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Craps Tournament Strategies

Post by AlBTossin » Tue May 27, 2014 1:16 pm

Recently received info that a casino in S/B is holding craps tournaments each Thursday in June with substantial prizes. I play craps often but I have not played in a craps tournament before and thought I would see if others would share their experience and ideas for tournament play. I have read MP's 4 part series on tournament play and similar info and at least have the idea that it is a big deviation from regular play.

In short, I would make a large DP bet. Once established I'd make large place bets on the six and eight. One hit and down on the six a d eight. Wait for a decision on the DP. Repeat on every player. On the last 5 to 6 Rolls if I were not the chip leader I would bet exactly the opposite as him. On the last toss of the tourney take everything down and put all of your chips on a come bet. A 7 or 11 will double your bankroll.

Good ideas Heavy. I'll have to try this at home. I never seem to win my own tournaments.

Heavy, thanks for the update and tips. That is especially interesting about the last play on the come bet action.
