London,

The idea is to get past the come-out and get one hit on your 6 or 8... at that point your bets are covered and a seven won't hurt you.

So "IF" you get past the CO seven, and "IF" you then get a hit on either the 6 or 8 before a subsequent seven, then you have collected $14.. at this point you cannot lose any more. If the seven comes, you win the DP for $12 (total win on hand $26), you lose the the $12 each on the 6 and 8 (total loss of $24).. and you end up +$2 for the hand. If the shooter makes his point, you lose the DP for $12, but that is offset by that first $14 win on the place and the existing place bets are unaffected, you can take them down or leave them. If the hand continues, you continue to collect on those 6 and 8 hits. Or you can take them down and wait for the next shooter. Of course there is a situation where the shooter gets a bunch of CO naturals and/or bullfrogs points right back without getting the inside hits. Those are the gamble of it all.

Remember it is call "One hit, can't miss" not "One hit, can't lose"... :)

OK Maddog thanks for clearing up. I thought you kept the 6&8 up regardless, but I now see that if the point does hit, then the £14 you have already made offsets the loss on the DP and allows you to decide whether to keep the 6&8 up for the next point cycle, or take your profit and run.

London Shooter is on the right track.
One scenario: With one PL or DP a 9, and two Place bets 6&8, all for $12 each,
1. Next toss is a 6 - ahead now $14
2.Next toss is a 9 - now 14 less 12 and ahead $2.
3. Next toss is 7 - hand is a loser for $24 less the $2 profit for a loss of $22.

A nicer scenario would have been such as a 6, an 8, then the 7, which is more usual than the first

Not unusual scenarios above, (there are worse, of course) and are part of my preferred play especially with a DP of 4 or 10 on some or sometimes all randies, with either Inside or just the 6&8, until I get to toss; you lose less using a DP, last longer, have more chips longer, have more fun cheering with the table, definitely more fun than standing there with your thumb up........ getting dirty Box attitude, AND always being on the good hands .
Best hand, etal for me betting on a randie this way, with reasonable pressing , netted $830.
Comps may or may not be good, but the alternative is better.

Bobby: Uh, you are off just a bit. WHEN the 9 hit, you bring down the 6 & 8 or get the dealer to put an OFF lamer on the 6 & 8 as you are done with that shooter.
By leaving them up, you have no protection. That's gambling.
What makes this a good way to play is it works at any level, such as $30, $30, $30.
I have not figured a way to neutralize the CO loss. (I have been tinkering with a 2 stage martingale, but it makes me nervous) (so far, the best is one loss per shooter. Lose on the CO, wait for next shooter or use the DC after a point is established)
This can also be played with by-passing the CO and placing a DC if you are more comfortable with that.
In addition, Heavy has tinkered with this and put in some enhancements if you are so inclined.
Your craps plan? The dice gods laughed.

SIA,
Clarification needed in that my post was not intended to follow any previously prescribed play.
I misinterpreted the intent of the Thread. I've been MIA for some time and was attempting to catch up.
I do play the way I outlined , negative and positive scenarios included.
The usual results are for two or more 6or8 hits before the DC loser, most always at least one 6or8 before the DC loser for an essentially breakeven Hand. Playing with a DC (Hedge), the player has longer sessions.
The rationale is for being on winning right-side hands using the DC as an initial hedge.

Are Heavy's enhancements further back up in the Thread(?)
Thanks for the correction. (I apologize if maybe I should be in another Thread).

I think SIA is referring to an article from last month's newsletter.

What would I be comped on using this strategy at the $12 level? $12 or $36
I only have $12 at risk but I have $36 on the table.

For those of you wanting a thorough review of the One Hit - Can't Miss . . . this is the thread for you. Add to it SIA's recent thoughts on One Hit - Can't Miss - Regress and Win More and IMHO you have a great way to play the Randies. Thoughts?

Couldn't have said it better. Get past the CO, most likely to get a hit and the name says it all!
