Heavy's Strip Down Strategy

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Heavy's Strip Down Strategy

Post by heavy » Sun Feb 07, 2016 1:11 pm

I thought I'd reprint this one from this month's newsletter for those of you who may have missed it.

If you’ve ever hit the heavy lifting room at your local gym you may have noticed some of the serious lifters employing a technique designed to completely work the muscle to the point of failure. It’s called stripping and requires a couple of work-out buds. You’ll start out with your heaviest weight on a particular exercise and work that weight until you can no longer repeat the move – then you strip a few pounds of weight off each end of the bar and repeat – and repeat – and repeat. You might start out with 180 pounds, then go to 130, then 100, then 80, then 60, then go down to the bare bar. It is a killer workout routine – yeah, I used it a time or two in my younger days. But about the heaviest thing I lift these days is a pair of dice.

This same technique can be applied to betting at craps. Let’s say we start out with $320 across. That’s $50 on the four and ten, $50 on the five and nine, and $60 on the six and eight. Any hit on the inside pays you $70. A hit on the four or ten pays you $100 minus the commission. After you place your bets you take a hit or two, then regress to $96 across. That should leave you with a guaranteed profit of somewhere between $44 and $100, even if the ugly number shows up on the next hit.

Next you take a couple of hits at $96 across. You’ll collect somewhere between $42 and $54 to add to your rack. Then you tell the dealer to take down your four and ten, reducing your exposure by another $30. This leaves you with $66 inside working. You take a hit or two, collecting another $42, then strip off the five and nine, leaving you with just an $18 six and eight.

Finally, at the $18 six and eight level take another hit or two and bring it all down.
All in all you’re looking for seven hits before your bets are “exhausted.” Of course, you only need to score those first two hits to guarantee a profit with this play. Yes, it’s a high risk play those first couple of tosses – so I recommend you only use this strategy on proven shooters that you have confidence in. Remember, the best bet on a random roller is “no bet.”

I use this idea only when I shoot. 2v to try for outside numbers. I come down much lower after two hits and set for $18 6s and 8s and press them. Yes..it is chancey, but if I practice before I go and loosed up, it's a good play for me.
