Booking action another player waved off

Post by mssthis1 » Mon May 09, 2016 3:39 pm

Has anyone ever tried to take action another player waved off in the DC box? Do any casinos allow that? Recently I've seen several don't players who waved off the action if it was going to the six or eight. I'd take that action if it's allowed. It's already made it through the risk of being a 2 to 1 dog while exposed in the DC box and is now a 6 to 5 favorite.

Just ask and you should be O K...

You may be instructed to set your chips on the felt
which the dealer gives to the player who refused the wager...
...The flat wager stays same..
.You own the wager.....
..the Do Not rules stay in effect
and you may leave the flat or increase the wager by adding a Lay .......
....At that moment you may silently think the ....

I've done it before, but I usually don't ask unless the player is betting black action on the Don'ts. On those occasions when the box has said something to me about it he's simply said "Whatever you guys do is between you. I will not settle any disputes."
"Get in, get up, and get gone."

I once asked a super about this when I saw a player taking his DC bet down if it traveled to 6 or 8. Basically he said, just keep it on the down-low and not make it obvious.

You are correct that being a 6 to 5 favourite makes it a great deal. I remember when a similar question was asked a while ago, either on this site or another, that if the bet is large enough you could even pay more that the original bet. This way it may encourage other dark-siders to also sell their bets to you.
