How do YOU handle Crapless Craps?

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

How do YOU handle Crapless Craps?

Post by heavy » Fri Aug 18, 2017 3:15 pm

I know. Most of you just walk right by it. But there are approaches to the game that can and do work. Here's the strategy I use. Tell me what you think - and tell me how you'd approach the game.

1. Never bet the Pass Line except on yourself. When you do bet it take at least 5X odds if available to reduce the house edge on this bad bet.
2. Place the Six and Eight as you normally would. You don't press them unless you score a total of four hits on the pair. You use them to fund your Extreme Outside Action.
3. Place the Extreme Outside numbers initially if you cannot afford to Buy them. In Mississippi it's a $10 Buy bet on the Extreme Outside so you're good to go.
4. On the first hit on an Extreme Outside number make it a proper Buy bet (minimum $20). That number becomes your dominant press number and you'll press every other hit on it.
5. All other Extreme Outside numbers you take the first two hits - then press every other hit.
6. If you are the shooter use the Straight Sixes, Parallel Sixes, or Crossed Sixes as your set and do your damndest to keep the dice on axis.

Bad rules started by MGM! $20 min buys and vig upfront. Want to go $100 extreme #'s? That will be $5 vig upfront! Bah Humbug!

I was at the Grand (Harrah's) several years ago and they were charging the vig up front for the extreme numbers then. Maybe they didn't later. I would have considered come/put bets, though. The table was longer so I never really felt like risking a lot of action. Is there anyone with crapless craps with a good vig on the freak numbers? Otherwise I don't need the larger vig to contend with.

I kind of like the Put bet with Odds idea. I'll have to play around with that next time I'm near a Crapless game.

Put bets sound interesting, come bets are stupid, equal to a 2x 12 field bet.

Most crapless casinos charge the vig up front hence Isle of debris. I use to put bet the 5and 9 using 30 in odds on a ten times odds table nope didn't jump to 50 each. Makes a lot more sense to me even on the 4 and 10.
Think of it this way a 25 dollar 4 cost you a dollar up front ( why did you just gggiivve the casino a dollar0 Yes I know its a buy but its up front. Its better to get payed 5 dollars for the flat and get payed double for odds in my book. Those one dollar gifts add up over the course of play in a day.

One other piece of advice I may make here is although you have to pay the vig up front when your stuck at a cold crapless table is to lay the point if it is a 5 6 8 9 I would not lay any other numbers. A cold crapless table is a hell trap.

Seems the Never Ever and Crapless Craps Tables,in the Casino Markets
most experienced by me
excluded the " DO NOT PASS {D P }" and "DO NOT COME { D C } " or Dark Side Game..

Did not know a wager maker could LAY AGAINST A NUMBER on a Crapless Craps Table...
Will have to ask next time when playing one ...

yes wild child most people don't know that. One thing I have done in the past is once I have a 10 dollar all tall and small bet down to just one number left is to lay against the last number I only bet the all bet myself. That way you get a win in either direction.
May I also say the all tall and small bet is a ass eater. Worst then any combo of hard way bets or horn bets ever made.Yes you will not see a dp or dc bet on the lay out but there is a space for the lay bet.
While you can lay against the 3 11 2 12 I don't advise it to much hole to dig out of would suggest only lay against the point of 5689 only on cold table.
Here another thing to look for new dealers don't even know you can do it that's where the boxman comes into play.

Seems at "sometime " in the Salad Daze " ( perhaps early 1990's ) of my craps adventures ,other business allowed
an opportunity to play on a "regular standard craps table " in Reno and the dealers placed the D C and D C wagers behind the DO SIDE Box Number(s)......Seemed weird at the time.....

The joint on the West Bank in the New Orleans ,as I recall, moved the Don't Pass behind the BOX NUMBER(s)
even though there was a standard D /P strip on the Lay Out.......
.
The "Crap-less / NEVER EVER Craps or whatever copy written name the house gives seemed NOT MY GAME...
Then an associate showed me about an ADVANTAGE gained when BUYING or PUT WAGERING those
EXTREME Outside Numbers ( 2 - 3 - 11(Yo) & 12 ) when certain skilled PLAYRRRS had the dice on those tables..

The TWO and TWELVE pay 6 X those wagers while the THREE & YO 'LEVEN pay 3 X the wager
as opposed to the 30 X ( # 2 & # 12) and 15 X (# 3 and # Yo'leveeee ( 11 )
PLUS the wager maker retains THE NUMBER HIT or NOT HIT......
...
>>>>THE HOWEVER FACTOR : BECAUSE THE DARK SIDE WAGER ON THOSE EXTREME OUT SIDE NUMBERS NEEDS NOT
BE RESET after each roll
>>>> AND <<<<<
THE WAGER PLACER MAY ELECT TO EITHER PULL DOWN OR LEAVE UP
the house is allowing a " perceived " ADVANTAGE........

There is the DOWNSIDE of the SEVEN cancelling THE WAGER(s)....
With that said : In the able hand of a skilled and seasoned SHOOTARRRRRRR ,
an otherwise POOR CHOICE c o u l d yield a TAKE - TO- THE BANK moment..........

Be interesting to seriously chart ( clock ) those LONG LAND BARGE-LIKE TABLES....
With 12 footers and 14 foot Craps Tables being the "SWEET SPOTS"

and the way shorter "Tub GAMES " and GREATER THAN FOURTEEN FOOT CRAPS TABLES
being " TOUGH CHALLENGES "..............Perhaps DARK SIDE PLAY evens the situation "somewhat " ....

just me rambling

Made a quick stop Sunday morning at Lumiere in St. Louis for a free buffet after meeting a friend. Only table open was crapless. $10 table. No vig up front BUT buys didn't start until $15.
Was first time I ever played crapless.
I basically played 6&8 to feed extreme outside.
Lost a little bit while guy at table who was going greens across except 5&9 lost maybe $3,000 in less than an hour.

Wow on no vig! Find a set for extremes go $140 extremes and fire away! Would you like $105 for a buck, or $210?

Extremes are great on crapless, but hell, it's a volatile game

Should a Advantage Craps Player wish to NOT WAGER on THE EXTREMES
There may exist other opportunities to LAY WAGER(s) against
inside numbers........
.
Generally the Crap less Craps (by any of the names ) are somewhat L-O-N-G-E=R than
the 12foot or 14foot tables favored by some number of the Craps Playing Fraternity ...
.
Perception has it that L-O-N-G-E-R craps tables
are
more conductive to short roll number hands.
.
for those who "Clock Crap Tables " or "Chart Number of Rolls Tossed "
perhaps a trend may show opportunities galore to PROFIT
should a specific house allow PLAYERS to LAY WAGER AGAINST the INSIDE NUMBERS
on the Crap less Crap Game Table.
.
For the most part Lay Wagers MUST BE MADE AT A LEVEL THAT
A WIN ON THE SEVEN SHOWING PAYS AT LEAST $20 ...
...( Casino charges 5% { $1 per $20 WON} )
$36 Lay Against the SIX or EIGHT returns the original wager
PLUS $30 less 5% {$1.00 } Commission .

$30 Lay against the Box Numbers 5 or NINE Returns
$20 Less the 5% { $1.00 Vig / commission } for a NET PLUS OF $19.00

Just illustrating options that may be available to an Advantage Craps Player..

Ive played this game a lot. extremes come and go kind of like 4 and 10s. You may wish to lay the 5 or 9 use enoughlay to cover the 3 and 11 and use the 3/4 3/4 axis aray straight six set One hit on the 3 or 11 take down the lay or leave it up your choice. I see hands where a lot of 3 and 11 show up then they disappear for a few shooters get in hit and leave.I don't bet the 12and 2 any more its a long haul some times.

Until this thread I had never realised a lay was ever possible on crapless.

Buy the 12 and 2 for $50 each. First hit drop 15 dollars down and take it up to $300. From there collect $1800 for 15 or press up to 500 or if your fealing like your shots on take up to 1000 and get 6000 for 50. Just got crapless and my local casino and it's a high risk high reward way of playing but it's provided me with my biggest wins....so far lol.

It's also going to provide you with your biggest losses. :) Nice way to play though if you have the stomach and the bankroll for it. Lots of volatility right there.

I like placing the extreme out side, then buying each number as it hits. Then, if the shooter gets lucky OR has some skill you've got a chance at some real money. Of course, placing the six and eight are the backbone of my play. Hits on those numbers pay for that entertainment money on the extreme out.
