Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Intersting take on things Alamo. The crux with all these strategies though is the same - have you got the stomach to put out more than usual for the first few rolls when a PSO, PPSO or PPPSO type event is costly and/or importantly, stick to the plan if things don't go your way initially.

Yours is kind of different though in that your initial hit (with max odds on either pass or come) does get a large portion of your investment back, even if you continue to place numbers from the subsequent pay off. It's a good take on things. $110 max risk. You'd have to be strong to stick to the plan if the first three or four hands end up with the worst possible result. Mind you, 3 or 4 big whacks like that is probably enough to tell you it's not your day.

I would be interested in hearing some more $10 and $15 strategies.

Yes...I agree. ALL regression strategies risk those multiple short roll hands. 7 risk is what any strategy is about. And, short hands ALWAYS lose money.

Growing the bets from a small start is the only way to limit your losses, but to me it isn't very satisfying to start with a $12 6 & 8 and press to thirty. If you have a PL with no odds and a $12 6 & 8. You have to have a couple of hits to get to $30 on each, then you have to hit a couple of more to make any money. On the other hand, I"ve had excellent success with starting small.

Craps is a conundrum. Bottom line is that you can't take the risk out of it entirely and it comes down to bankroll and risk tolerance.

Since this is a BEST STRATEGY thread, why do I never hear about that so-called 99% winning system that is in all the newsletters. At an advertised 99% win rate, people ought to be raving about it. Not to mention the fact that the strategy ought to be all over the place by now. For that price, the thing BETTER be a winner.

Two simple ones:

I like 44 inside. Two hits take the 5 and 9 down. You can press up your 6&8 as you fancy if the hand progresses.

I also like Heavy's straightforward $18 6&8. Drop $3 on first hit and take your number to $42 which then pays $50 to 1. Same bet or press as you see fit. The beauty of this one is it covers you for $5/$10/$15 tables without having to do any modifications.

Appreciate the posts.

One question. On the $18 6 & 8 and/or $44 across posts, how do you employ those strategies if you are the shooter and you get, perhaps, a 4 or a 10 as your point? Single odds maybe then proceed as before. On the $44 across if you are the shooter and the point if 4, for example. You could do single odds on the 4 and place the 1- for $10 and place 6 & 8 for $18 each? Or ignore the 4 completely and place the 5 and 9 anyway?

I'm assuming $10 or $15 tables, because, as I've said before, that is reality if you play the decent tables in Vegas.

If I am shooting I generally like to be involved in the sister point to my number so if I 4 or 10, I would drop the 5 and 9, take single odds on the point and place whatever the sister was for $10 also.

I've been experimenting with your strategy a bit this weekend.

Like all 'up front' place betting systems, it has the short roll wipe-out risk, but I've gotten wiped out plenty of times come betting.

For a little more risk, I'm going with an $18 6 and 8 and $15 each on the 5 and 9. Interesting, I was intuitively putting single odds on the point, sometimes throwing the sister out there and other times stacking the box right to left or left to right when the 4 or 10 is the point. If I put a $1 out there for the crew, that puts my worst case risk at $75. With the point and single odds, that only ups my risk by $20.

I'm taking down everything except the $18 6 & 8, then bumping them up to $42 each when they hit, then leaving them there but going back to two more place bets at $10 each on the first $49 hit. Then, ideally, the board shows a $42 6 & 8 and a $10 5 and 9 or 4/10 as the case may be. I'm not going past 4 #s until I get 3 hits at $49. That is a lot of 6/8 action, but I've found that it does happen, and you can make back a point 7 pretty quick if you get things going.

Going to Vegas on 11/5 and 6, and I'll probably take a deep breath and fire up this system out there.

Another low risk system I've had some success with is PL no odds, $12 6 & 8. With a dollar for the crew, that's $35 at risk. Bump 6 & 8 to $30 when they repeat. Next two hits at $35 pay take $10 from each hit and place it on either the point as single odds or on 5 & 9. No pressing until all 4 numbers are green, then add the last two open numbers with $35 hits, racking $25 each time. Works sometimes and is usually what I warm up with (I always have to get used to Vegas). I pasted the Plaza one time doing that, to the tune of over $700.

Good luck Alamo.

Have you got any set number of rolls before taking money off the table?

With the 44 inside I have been doing recently, I am looking for two hits before taking the 5 and 9 down. But I also build in a trigger of no hit in 3 rolls and bets come down, whether that be at the start of the process or after the first hit.

Then, after two hits I'll take the 5 and 9 down. Then prob same bet the 6 or 8 two or three times before pressing. My rule once I start pressing becomes 4 rolls with no paying hit and take the 6&8 down. Heavy mentioned this recently and it seems about the right length of time to go without a hit as a hand progresses.

Also to say this is for randie play. I am much more likely not to take bets down on my own throw unless I start throwing back to back craps numbers or start to feel uneasy for some reason about my throw.

If the two hits are a 5 and 9 or two 5's or 9's, this would indicate one of the two might be a hot number. Would you still pull them down?

Yes, I'd still take them down. I'm not really a hot number believer unless I know the shooter and knows that what he produces from his given set ......and to be fair those times are very rare :)

Thank you for the answer. Typically I'll place the inside (point not included), collect three bets, then stay or press and collect based on the table conditions.

I'll take a test drive today using the above and see how it works.

Yes, I'm back on the PL on occasion. Sometimes the DP just isn't going to work and the nearest casino is typically 30 to 50 miles away. Long drive for no action.

Good luck DS.

I think we all need a couple of strategies up our sleeves that suit both our bankroll and our betting personalities. It's an ever evolving process it seems through experience and risk/reward tolerance which can easily evolve over the years.

Just look at those who have been on this site and around the game for decades. Still changing, still fiddling about, still working out what suits them best.

If I place the five and nine for $10each, I like to mini-regress these numbers. Need two hits on same number for it to work. First hit on whichever, I drop $1 and tell the dealer to go to $25. Same for the sister number. When it hits at $25 I tell the dealer to make it look like $10 and rack the two green ($50).

Question, are you talking about going to $25 on a 5 or 9? What does that pay, and or do they let you buy the 5 or 9.
I assume when you say take the two greens and make in $10 that it pays $35 and you take the green that was you bet and the green you were paid, so it pays $35 then. Right?

Yes that would be correct.
The $25 bet pays $35. He takes the $35 win with $15 of his place bet and back down to $10 place bet. Right Bankerdude80?

BD, I like your twist on things. More aggressive of a play, but you get some money off the table and keep your 5 and 9 interest should the hand develop further.

I start the five and nine out at 15 each and immediately press the first to hit to 35. That pays 50 for 1 on the next hit. Lock up two green chips. Press every other hit after that. 35 to 75 to 150 to 350 to 750 to 1500...now you're just adding zeros.

It worked well, until the table went ice cold, which played right into my hand. It adds a secondary strategy for the PL, I have quite a few for the don't. I want to war game and live play it before I pass judgement. Thanks for passing on the info ...

Ya know...I don't think we have heard one single "Your Go To, Money Making, BEST Betting Strategy" from the DARKSIDE, have we? Cowtippin maybe DF? Where are ya DarthNater?

Let 'er rip people!

Since I recently have made a half transition to the Darkside, I like to almost always have a DP bet on the line for at least some version of a SIA "OHCM" going. Depending on the table conditions, choppy to cold, I usually play a $6 DP with a $6 6&8 for a SIA "OHCM". After a 6 or 8 hit, I take them down and wait until the forth roll and start $6 DC bets until I get two up. From there it is just a let it ride to the SO...

The way I see it, if I can squeeze out an "average" 7 roll hand out of it, I can usually get a $6 DP hit and a $7 6 or 8 hit for $13 payoff with $12 DC bets up for just 1-2 rolls. If they get knocked off, I'm still ahead. Usually, I make out with one of my DC bets getting knocked off and the other paying. At that rate, that's a $19 payoff for about the same amount of risk.

I like Heavy's $30 DP/$10PL with $20 odds play too!

After point is established, bet continual DCs until one is knocked off (Parlay all DC wins, have a procedure in place for the number of DCs you will allow to fall to 11s). Once you lose a traveled DC, stop betting and wait for the decision(s) on any remaining bets. Once in a blue moon you may get all bases loaded and then the 7 comes next.

Variations on the theme:

Consider adding odds to remaining DCs if one or two get knocked off in an attempt to recoup losses on the hand.......of course watch your loss limit on a hot roll.

Use a $41 no 4 or 10 to protect your first DC. 7 out here on a $20 DC is a wash. If it does travel to 4 or 10 and you lose your lay, at least you have a difficult number that needs repeating for the DC to get knocked off.

Make your first DC bigger than subsequent one. E.g $20 above, followed by $15s. First DC protects the second one and still gives you a $5 profit if 7 immediately follows.

None of this is my own work - just things I have absorbed on here which all seem sensible ideas.
