OK if the don't better cheers his 7-out wins?

In one of the weirder sessions of my career - I bought in at a table at Harrah's in New Orleans and, after a few minutes, realized that everyone on my end of the table was playing the Don'ts and everyone on the other end of the table was playing the Do's. I must confess that my end of the table got rowdy. After all, usually when you're playing the Don'ts you're all alone next to the base dealer, quietly stacking your chips in the rack as you win. But in this case it was "us against them" and all sorts of nonsense was going on. Questions being bandied about like "Yo, stickman. Quick. How many letters in the word Harrahs?" Foot-high stacks of lay odds. An occasional "hop the sevens" bet. Frankly, I'm surprised no fights broke out. The other end was looking quite hostile. Normally, though, I just quietly do my thing when playing the don'ts - racking my winnings and letting my chip rack do the talking.

I'm in the don't-cheer-if-you-are-playing-the-don't camp. To me, it's just one of those things you shouldn't do. And there's a practical side to it, too. I've found that when I'm rolling and see a don't player betting opposite of me, it tends to cause me to really focus and seem to roll with more precision. I don't want to encourage the roller to do the same to me if I'm betting the don't. Same reason I usually bet the DC and not the DP -- better to fly quietly under the radar.

I think you stay low profile, though if there's a majority of don't players at the table, it can go insane. I posted this on the older Proboards site; but will summarize again. I believe it was during one of the CrapsFests. I think Memo, Deadcat, and Lakewood were at a 14 foot table at Rio with me and others (so speak up). A couple of us started betting the DP, with single odds. As the seven outs mounted, the Do players were getting ticked. I got the guy next to me to switch - he'd never played the don't, but said he'd copy my moves. a few PSOs later, he was a believer and taught his brother/cousin. this table kept getting colder - more guys switched. One guy was black chipping and had switched about the time the bro/cousin switched. Inside of an hour everyone was playing the dark and explaining to each other. They were all shooting from the don'ts , 3-4 tosses till Mr 7 - they became gleeful. Clappin and shouting for each seven out. By now we were all pressing up our flats and odds. Mr Black was now Mr. Purple (or whatever the $500 chip was) . All the suits were lined up in dismay and nonbelief. We got noisier, as the racks filled. People would rush up to buy-in in the middle of rolls (bringing more 7s, lol. One guy ran up next to me, bumped me as I was shooting when he threw $500 on the table, guess what--- 7. I said "thanks". He was embarrassed; then saw all the don'ts being paid and said "what the .....game is this...." and actually reached down, grabbed back his cash and ran off. I guess it lasted for about an hour more. The suits tried everything, multiple stick changes, lotsa cocktail girls, a chip fill. I even remember a couple of cooler types pushing in and betting. I think all those countermeasures just stoked the flames; they didn't have a counter measure to warm things up, hahaha.

I don't remember how it ended exactly; I seem to remember seeing three consecutive yo's on the comeout as the beginning of the end, but it was a heckuva scene, D.N8r

What I like and have seen a few times is when the don't have a dealer bet riding with them and there are do players who also have a dealer bet riding with them so the dealers are guaranteed a win.
