Best Bet to win $100

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Best Bet to win $100

Post by heavy » Thu Apr 19, 2018 2:16 pm

Yeah, it's another of those "what would you do?" questions. Let's assume you have a $500 bankroll to play with and a $300 loss limit. You need an extra hundred bucks for something important to you - perhaps a nice gift for your significant other or to cover the cost of a massage down at the Happy Golden Dragon Good Luck Rub and Tug. What's your play? Pass line - Don't pass - Take a shot at the props? What's your quickest, sure-fire way to win a Benjamin?

10$ dp, 15$ odds, lay 15$ 5&9, set for seven.
40$+ every two rolls when succesful.
Some casino won’t lay under 30$ tho.

Ok..you win 98 bucks. $200 no ten two rolls after a ten is rolled around the 15th roll if those two rolls are horns.

Ahigh's 280 play on myself or a known DI.

It was new to me recently but essentially all numbers covered to win 50 per hit. Two hits and down and off for a happy finish, or alternatively a DIY job if it goes tits up :).

Either way you know your fate very quickly.

If I am shooting, $100 PL bet. Or, $25 PL bet with $75 odds.

I would rather go 5$ pass, 6&8 90$ Each one hit and down everything.

I saw kids do that one day. They were dumb and looking for a second & third hit... but if they did one hit & down they woulda won 1k in a few mins. They just didn’t realise the potential from greed.

If I have the Dice, $100 Don't Pass using my 2 dice sets. One for the come-out and the other to seven-out.

I like that one too. I've been playing 2 hit's regress/press for several months now. The majority of the time 2 hits and down on everything but the mandatory pass line bet is stronger. You typically need at least one hand of 20+ or a string of repeaters that isn't the point during the session otherwise.

How does that play work out to $280? 4/10 @ $25 each ($26 really to buy them). 5/9 for $35 each and 6/8 for $42 each. Comes out to $206.

So far nobody has taken sixteen shots at a $6 high-low.

22Insider,

Sounds like what you are describing is Mad Professor's 204 bet.

As an aside, does anyone still have any contact with MP?

$4 ACE-DEUCE
$35 4
$45 5
$54 6
$54 8
$45 9
$35 10
$4 YO
$2 MIDNIGHT

2 + 4 + 35 + 45 + 54 + 54 + 45 + 35 + 4 + 2 = 280

It's detailed in comparative strategy analysis thread which H bumped recently.

Ace High concluded SRR to breakeven on his 280 was 6.257 which was same figure as MP204, but he reckoned 280 out performed 204 for a DI with good SRR, though comparison was not apples to apples given different betting amounts and regressions/Presses

What was also interesting was that house edge per roll of 280 was just under 1% even with "bad" bets in the mix.

Whole thread is a good read if you like that kind of thing. I'll bump it again for ease of finding

For some odd reason that one only seems to work for me when I'm not betting it. lol.

since I haven't played the hi/lo bet for about twenty years..doesn't a $6 hi/lo pay $90? It's a split giving you $15 for $6. Or have I got this completely wrong. At roll 16 you've put out $96..not even even. How about using a fib progression starting with $2 hi/lo after seeing a horn appear. Roll 30 gets some big bucks!

Your are correct - pays $90. Personally, I think I'm back betting $90 each on the six and eight. One hit and run.

I did a $51 No 10 today. It went two rolls and out. I collected my $25 profit and went and got my free lunch. That works for me.

I like both the $90 6 & 8 and the $100 don't come plays to make $100. But with the stated $300 loss limit the 6/8 play only gives you one shot whereas the don't come play gives you possibly three shots at winning $100 (loose first, win second and win third - $100 up and gone).
