DC 5 count?
Just wondering, what’s the thought on a 5 count or less after a point is established, for a DC bet? Seems it would be a money saver, less anger at the table.
Re: DC 5 count?
I like the concept, however my play would be a TWO or THREE count and would call for Laying the point. Run a Fibo negative progression on the Lay bets. Cap it at . . . say five losses. Average first bet $31. Progression of 31 - 31 - 62 - 93 - 155. Average $372 max loss. Remember, the Don'ts win two out of three times. But $372 is enough of a push. No point in chasing the dragon down the hole.

Bur what if you are a low budget player with a $200 buy in at a $10 table?

Would not the smartest thing be to wait till your budget improves? I’m not sure if my $500 buy in on a $10 table is sufficient. What says Heavy?

I'd say for the play I described you'd need a minimum of $750 even though your loss limit is about half that.

I guess it depends on one's objective. Based on the average length of a craps hand, I would think you'd want your DC bets up there as soon as possible. That seven is right around the corner.
The average length of a player’s Craps hand in terms of the number of rolls is about 8.526
83.33% of shooters will have rolls between 0 to 4 rolls.

Yep. 83% of hands are decided before the five count (and some of them actually win for the shooter) combined with that two out of three hands end without a pass figure combined with the fact that you don't have to get past the Sheriff or the Deputy when Lay Betting and suddenly the 5% commission doesn't look bad at all.

I think $200 on a $10 table is fine for DC play. You could play up to say 3 DCs per shooter having a "reload once" policy and/or stop when one DC gets knocked off. 200 here with a max exposure of 30 per shooter in this manner will allow you to grind it out for ages.
I also think $500 is fine for a $10 table for right side play. 20 x a table min 6&8 is my rule of thumb. Again though you can't be going mad - 44 inside or similar max per shooter. Something like 10% of your buyin per hand or even better 5% which would just be that 6&8. If you want to do passline with odds and a couple of come bets with odds then imo you need a bigger buyin as 3 bets with double odds soon puts $90 exposure on the table.
Given roll 3 is the most likely to produce a 7 on any hand maybe the DC count should be that number? It's often been quoted on here for don't side strategy.
