field bets

Setting and influencing the dice roll is just part of the picture. To beat the dice you have to know how to bet the dice. Whether you call it a "system," a "strategy," or just a way to play - this is the place to discuss it.

Eagles dad

Welcome to the board and your first post.

Personally I rarely field bet. If I do make a $10 field, hop the 5,6,8 for $8 because its a guaranteed win........

...unless the seven rolls then you're out $18. :o You could always add a sevens hop bet to cover all the numbers.

I'll occasionally play a mini-martingale on the field if I spot a trend/pattern of consistent field numbers showing. It's definitely an entertainment bet for me. I'll start with $10, press one unit after I recoup the initial bet. I then press one unit until the streak ends. I don't hedge with Iron Cross play or hop bets. The streak is over when I lose the bet, it's then back to the regular scheduled program and wait for another trend if I play it again.

Random of course...I've war-gamed this in Wincraps many times to no avail. I've also played this out (in my mind) at the casino several times with randies, when the table was typically choppy...still, to no avail.

About the only time I bet the Field is if my regular World/high-low prop action hasn't been working for me on the Come Out. Then I might bet the Field as what I call a "Mississippi Craps Check." But I'd probably parlay any Field wins over to the Horn just because I'm a prop-a-holic at heart.

Welcome EaglesDad! Nice first post to break the ice.

I rarely play the field these days. I toyed with it briefly as a way to try and feed place bets and/or hard way presses, but quickly abandoned it.

I occasionally place a field bet after a Craps or 11 instead of a Horn bet depending on how the spirit moves me. Especially if I have the 5, 6, 8 covered.

There are several ways of playing the field, all based on the due number thing. Of course on the other hand, our place betting is basically a due number thing. I digress. If I were to use the Martingale betting scheme, I would look for streaks but Heavy can clue you in on using the Martingale, Fibonacci progression or other due number ways. Use the search engine at the top of the page for help also.
O.K. Took my own advice and found this for you: https://www.axispowercraps.com/crapsfor ... eld+system Betting the field martingale system.
I reread that thread from 7/13 and it is a good one. I remember the system I thought might work, especially on a 12 triple pay table:
Bet the field after a field number hits One Time. If you lose then bet the field using the Grand Martingale One time after another field number hits. What you are looking for is two field numbers in a row without suffering the losses of continual non field numbers. Will it work? I have no idea but will run it thru WinCraps and try it out. sia
Your craps plan? The dice gods laughed.

FYI, there are a few tables that are a Field bettor's dream in Albuquerque, New Mexico. They pay triple on both the 2 and the 12, making the Field bet a "no house edge" wager. Catch a streak there and you're in fat city.

I would play the Labourche on that table.

I found this elsewhere on the site:

It has reminded me about my chunks theory, alas, no time to compare my roll history for a field attack set, ciao, D.N8r

My advice is don't bother if the field only pays double on the 12. Triple on the 12 and you can have some fun especially if an extreme number hits to give you a bonus.

Net result of a martingale is always the same though: you lose all your money, lose your bottle or hit the table limit. There is absolutely no long term benefit to this bet.

Instead why not just have a bit of fun and go for a double parlay and down?

I watched two guys this weekend lose their whole bankroll down the “rabbit hole”,in the field. They weren’t playing that poorly until one of them on a wild hair tossed out a black on the field and a 12 hit. Down the hole they went and never looked back. It only took 5 out of 6 misses at the rate they started betting to wipe them out. The sad part was the shooter was having a great hand if they hand just wagered that money on what was rolling they would have cashed in.

It’s bump time......

It took me awhile to find this topic and reread all the spin-offs.

What got me searching for this was some BoneTracker Extended results where I had sets exceeding 400 fields in 720 rolls. That looked good for flat betting the Field. Plus, while I resisted MP’s Grand Marty, I’ve played a Fibo and wargaming a Turbo Fibo.

Meanwhile in the casino, I’m flat betting Fields with the set and it’s flipped sister, DN8R

Well..allright allright! I wasn't going to admit it..but with my heavy 4, 9, 10 situation and another coaster toaster I have been indulging in the IC myself and having excellent results..also because I don't throw many 5s. And yeah..I will use a 1,3,2,5..

A D'Alembert in the field? Count two rungs if you hit a 2/12!

I just finished looking at my last practice session results and tested continuous flat Field bets in the Alleyoop Bet Summary tool and found an error in the Field equation (of all things, sigh). It does not count TENs in its calculations. So I edited in the fix; and what do you know for 72 rolls I got +$240. That's for $10 flats, with 2's & 12's paying double....now I have to edit for paying triple, DN8R

Bone Tracker Extended
allows for a true Tabula Rasa outlook/approach.

A number of Baccarat players choose to bet Field Harvest
applying their techniques for
guess sniping $ USD PLUMBS of repeats of B & P
for moments that they visit the Craps Pit.
By observation, they appear to have a degree of success.

Practitioners of B T Extended may enjoy a greater degree of success.

just me saying
