One of the local casinos has a new side bet that goes like this.
If your first card is ten value card you can increase you bet clear up to table max with a 5% commission. Dealers up card is still hidden at this point.
Has anyone run into this and does anyone have any thoughts? A side count of aces looks worth while with +2 being the number needed to cover the vig along with 10's not being a - count?
I haven't played it yet.

I used to play and I counted cards. I also kept a side count of Aces. I would love to know what the house advantage is on this bet. Seems like it might have a time and place.
Re: Anyone here play Blackjack?
Personally, I like blackjack when I can play a heads up game with the dealer. Unfortunately, that's rarely the case. Besides, although I engage in what I'd call "card counting lite," they could still tag me and I don't want that exposure. But the math on this one is simple. On your best day at card counting you might get a fractional percentage advantage over the deck for a fleeting moment or two. Paying a 5% vig on additional funds added to your bet would negate that advantage. It's smoke and mirrors. You have to admire the big brain that came up with this one just for out of the box thinking.
