I was ganged up on by Four A--holes
I walked up to a table with a spot open next to the Dealer and bought in for $500 . I began playing the Pensioner`s Play after saying "Thank You " to the dealer after getting my chips . I put one green chip on the DP and a guy to the left of the stick begins berating me for playing the Don't and the two guys to his right and the guy next to me who looked like he was 7 feet tall jumped in saying , "We do not want a--holes at this table."
"Then , I guess you should leave", I replied.
"Are you calling me an a--hole?"
"No, you just called yourself one.", as I smiled at him.
"We will give you a hundred dollars to leave the table."
"OKay!" I said , while holding out my hand.
"I`m not givin` this guy s--t.", the tall guy said next to me.
Still, holding out my hand the other two guys , "Hell no , we will just run that sob, m--f--r from the table by beating his a--'
I thought about yelling something back at them but I decided to keep my mouth shut especially since the guy next to me was a foot and a half taller and weighed a heck of a lot more than I do. Also, I am thinking , this is only a game and in an hour or two we will all be gone from the table never to see each other again.
Well, the more thay lost the more they will yelling G-Ds, MFsand other choice words and inbetween making remarks about my dont play. I thought the box or the pit would set them straight, but they said nothing. That kind of added to my uncomfortableness being at the table listening to all the BS.
Finally the two guys next to the player next to the stick left, but the other two who well doing most of the talking remained . At least there were fewer GDs and MFS, but still too many. I was disappointed that the pit and box did not tell them to tone it down. Of, course they had black chips which were turning into green and red chips.
The table began thinning out and finally it was just us three left. The tall guy finally lost his last chip and his buddy picked up the few chips he had remaining and as he left the table the looked at me and said, "A--hole!", as he walked away.
"No players, no game .", the dealer said.
I colored up and after playing 3 hours and 6 minutes , I was down $100 and the "azzzz holes" thought I was winning because they were losing.
As I was leaving the table . I was thinking the box and the pit were the real A--h-s because they did not get those guys to tone it down.
The next morning I had gone into the Lounge to get a cup of coffee and who walks in to get a cup but the tall guy from last night.
"Hi, how ya` doing?"
Silence; no reply.
I wanted to say," Hell , man ; it`s only a game."

Unreal. I never understood why folks get so bent out of shape when there are others at the table playing from the don'ts. Especially when you're playing from a spot next to the stick as there's no way you can be one of those annoying don't players on the end who build up walls of chips to mess with the shooter. If you're just playing your game and not being obnoxious about it when 7's are thrown then you're just making the bets you want to make. I don't care if people play the don'ts when I'm shooting. The only ones I feel sorry for are those who stubbornly stick to the don'ts when I catch a hand.

People that complain about the don't players just don't have a clue about the math or the game. Their are many of them and they are superstitious and they have to blame somebody for their woes. I agree with you DF that the real losers were the no class casino and their employees who let this go on. One of my many reasons to change tables is if too much swearing is going on at a table. I just want more class than that provides. Think you handled it well by the way.

Re: I was ganged up on by Four A--holes
For many years, I avoided playing the don'ts for the same reason as DF experienced. I finally grew a spine. Many players do not understand the full dynamics of the game and take it personally when you make a DP or DC bet. Like 22inside, I could care less how other players are betting. I even no longer care if they put their chips in my LZ. I adjust. I might get annoyed on occasion, but overall I've learn to take it in stride. I can't control what I can't control. Sometimes my level of focus increases and I become more attuned to the table when someone plays the don't while I am shooting. I harbor no ill will, I only hope that they have enough BR if they go down that rabbit hole. By the same token, I used to get nervous when a high roller buys in the middle of my roll and puts up $320 or more across. If they're that big of a better, it's their responsibility to make sure their BR can handle the variance. Not my problem.22Inside wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 1:17 pm Unreal. I think in the grand scheme of things, the A--holes want a reason for their losing and they want someone or something to blame. Often they just want an excuse to account for their losses. A prime example of what a real loser is.

Was this incident during a weekend and was adult libation involved ?
Sounds like an action junkie with unrealistic delusions....
Reality may keep the immature looser guys away

the Pay Day Loan-Sharks cut him off..

Have you considered speaking

Guess if you see the same action junkie looser ,you may want to

I can't even get past the call-out and verbal insults enough to offer advice. I would have left for three reasons. Most importantly, I'm not gonna do time for messing with a buncha fuck-offs I wouldn't cross the street for. Secondly, I'm there to have a good time and having to soothe feathers outright and make-nice constantly to appease strangers ain't my version of it. Lastly, I've got 'way to short a fuse to interact at that level. I've been in a couple situations like that before, and both times, I was mistaken for a mute. I couldn't trust myself so I kept quiet and left. Not one word outta me. I don't care what anyone has to say about me; I've avoided jail time for someone I couldn't give a shit about and that's all that counts.
I'm boggled that you could or would stay to play under conditions that weren't at the least, casual and easy. I mean, here y'are, still wondering about "management's" reaction and their lack of action or words... from my point of view, this is between you and the other players. Ya'lls the ones doing the talking.
To me, the rule of thumb is, "no one's gonna look after me"--when the bad behavior escalates and shit starts to fly. Anything can happen (and it could be over in plenty of time to avoid a "security" team)--there's 'WAY more people who'd stand back and watch rather than get involved in a possible conflict, and now you know that that entire crew is all of that. Or at least, you're thinking about it still... obviously, you didn't have a good time, and maybe at the least, that's the point.

I do not understand why the casino personnel working that table did not say anything. That would have never happened at the casino where I play, the working staff would let em know to "shut up" or leave. They don't allow "bullying". That is exactly what it was. Take 3 away from the 4 and the alone may have said something, but left it as soon as no one responded because that is what bullies rely on, an audience and "back up".
I must admit when I first started playing I took it all personal when people played the dont's. I have since learned and now know better. The last time I was at the casino, there was a known "don't shooter". He rarely rolls himself and when he does (a randy) I have seen him make a couple points(lost his don'ts) and then pass the dice to the next person before a 7 out. Anyway, he walked up to the table and stood next to me (in the hook) and I heard him say something to the dealer like "it is not going to get unfriendly with my playing the don'ts", and the dealer said I don't think so. I just looked at the don't shooter and said "you know, when you used to come to the table I thought you must be a mean person or something, but now I realize that you are not betting against me, but betting on the dice, anyone who knows the game should know this and if they don't well in time they will" and laughed. he smiled and said "I bet for the better odds". I totally understand.
Sorry that happened to you but I would not let it ruin your time. believe me, being a female shooter I have taken some remarks, some anger that I 7'd out after 5 rolls, (even though they get the dice and and 7 out after 3), and various other remarks reminding me of my gender etc. They are all happy though when I roll 25 or 30. lol My husband even agrees that I get treated differently sometimes, but I go to have fun, try to win some money, I am there and if they don't like my rolls or how I play then they can go home. I'm saying until I am ready to leave. There are plenty of people at the casino who play craps that I don't care for, or I know they are a bad shooters, and unless they are rude to me(most regulars are not), I treat them all with kindness and respect. Just try to live with the philosophy, "take care of the weeds in your own back yard before trying to tell me how to take care of mine". Don't away and haul your winnings to the casino cashier with a smile.

I KNOW who the biggest man at the table was DF! Take a bow...
Think Heavy's got a pretty good response as well.
Several months ago there was some similar loud berating going on at the table. One dude got fed up with it all and yelled at Security after the staff did nothing. Security came to the table and asked the dude what the problem was. The dude says, "The problem is going to be, if you don't remove this guy from the table or get him to STFU, there is going to be one hell of a fight as I kick his ass from one end of this casino to the other!" Problem solved! Security ushers this big mouth to the door. Suppose they took the threat as serious and did not want a scene. I somehow thought Security must have been witnessing this incident all along.
Yes, I've never quite understood why table staff does/says nothing to players, unless it only involves the playing or rules to the game. Maybe, that is their only job and told NOT to get involved. Just let Security handle things.

Re: I was ganged up on by Four A--holes
When I first started going to casinos 18 years ago, the pit or box would step in and tell players no more dirty talk. Of course two of these guys were betting a lot and losing a lot . All four of them knew each other . I thought about leaving the table within the first 5 minutes, after I realized that they were not playing, but serious in their comments. I kind of joked about it when the ringleader was trying to get the "gang of four" to each pitch in a green chip to get rid of me. Heck yeah , I would have prostituted myself and left that table if they had put 4 green chips in my hand.
I did play on a Friday night after dinner which I do not normally do. And yes , the ringleader and the two younger guys had drinks . The only two of us not drinking , at the time , were me and the tall guy next to me.
I am glad that I kept my mouth shut and this did not become a two-sided shouting match or worse . I am too old to get into any fights. I would have had to borrow a ladder to punch the fellow next to me in the nose . I really remained at the table after that first 5 or 10 minutes just because--------------
I WANTED TO PLAY CRAPS.

DF,
Way to hang in there!
I guess a win is a win (even if it isn't), when losers look for winners.
My experience is the pit & crew won't do anything about bad behavior of a black chip player, as they love seeing those guys tear their own game apart worrying about your game. Besides if the losers blame you and not the house they'll come back and lose more. There's always going to be some creep whining about your game, right side or wrong side, let it roll off your back as security is always waiting in the wings.
Keep charging, D.N8r
PS were you or them toking? Its funny how much respect a white piggybacked chip on the DP can alter reality.......

Come to think of it , in those 3 hours , I do not remember them toking at all. I was just doing my normal couple of $s on a hardways every two or three dealer changes. I`m not much of a tipper myself.
Once someone asked me if I tip a lot? I told him , "NO, I am just a slow and steady tipper."
He replied, "I see you are also a slow and steady player".

DF,
I am just darn sad that it happened at all.
I have never been witness to such open hostility by other players. They must have been loosing a lot..
Maybe they mistook you for a conservative senator.
At any rate, you are a class act to acknowledge him the next meeting.

Ditto with RR!
Re: I was ganged up on by Four A--holes
I qwould have called Gail and had her deal with it. I also would have paid a fee to watch her do so.
Glad you stayed to play. Wish you could have won.

Hey, Golfer. I would have left if they had come through with the four green chips. That was kind of funny.
I knew by staying that either they would blast me out or they would blast themselves out . I knew from my buyin that I would play a minimum of an hour and a half. One of the two older players ,about 30 minutes after I bought in, began betting more conservatively but the ringleader just kept getting another thousand in cheques. The two younger players left the table after about an hour.
I was surprised that I lasted 3 hours, but it was a very choppy table, actually the kind that I like when playing a DP laying odds ; of course I prefer a table that is cold and I am winning big , but with a table full of shooters . Usually all the shooters desert a cold table

I read this as you were the only person at the table when the dealer stated : "No players, no game ." before you colored.Dylanfreake wrote: ↑Sun Nov 04, 2018 12:38 pm
"No players, no game .", the dealer said.
I colored up ....
Why would they say that if you were still at the table?
