Another Casino Operator in Pennsylvania Applies for Sports Betting Licenses
"As revealed by the state gambling regulator Greenwood Gaming and Entertainment filed two applications at the close of business on August 24th, only a week after the first petition to operate a sports betting service in the state of Pennsylvania was filed by Penn National Gaming. The gambling company seeks the regulatory authority’s approval to offer a sportsbook at two of its venues – the Bensalem-based Parx Casino and the off-track betting parlor it owns in Philadelphia – the South Philadephia Turf Club."

Sports Betting in Arizona Requires Tribal Compact Rework
"Arizona leaders have to consider a potential “poison pill” in their gaming compacts with Indian tribes when weighing the legalization of sports betting, according to a Phoenix-based attorney.
Passing a law to let the state or businesses offer gambling on games would reduce how much revenue tribes owe Arizona from their casinos across the state, said Stephen Hart, a partner with Lewis Roca Rothgerber Christie LLP who practices Indian and gaming law. A decades-old compact between the state and tribes gives tribes exclusive rights to some types of gaming in exchange for following certain limitations and paying the state part of their revenue. If that changes, and other entities are able to operate that gaming, tribal requirements in the compact are loosened. That includes a reduction in how much revenue tribes owe the state and lifted limitations on some gaming devices and table games."

Interesting. Maybe in AZ they can re-negotiate the compacts and bring in the real dice game, roulette, and other games. I think it could hurt Vegas a little bit.

Cowboys make history, partner with casino
"The Dallas Cowboys became the first NFL team to have an official casino designation, announcing a partnership with WinStar World Casino and Resort on Thursday.
“The Dallas Cowboys take great pride in aligning themselves with the best brands in the world,” owner Jerry Jones said. “It is a privilege to stand shoulder to shoulder as partners with such a prominent entertainment brand like WinStar World Casino.”
WinStar is located in Oklahoma, where sports betting remains illegal, but the NFL has relaxed its rules against gambling associations and content this offseason. Teams may now accept advertising money from casinos, although direct relationships with sportsbooks are not permitted."

William Hill, Golden Knights form sports betting partnership
"William Hill US has signed a partnership with the Vegas Golden Knights in the first deal between a sports book operator and a National Hockey League team.
The agreement sets a precedent for other NHL teams and sets up Las Vegas-based William Hill US to strike more partnerships as states legalize sports wagering, industry analysts said.
William Hill and the Knights will cross-promote each other through various media, advertising and promotional platforms, the companies said in a joint statement Tuesday. The financial terms were not disclosed.
The partnership will allow William Hill to advertise on the T-Mobile Arena dasher board and in other areas visible on TV. William Hill also gets the right to display leaguewide odds on the large videoboard above the T-Mobile rink during intermission. The two companies will also collaborate on away game watch parties.
No further details were provided.
“This partnership between a major professional team and a sports book operator is a historic, landmark agreement, and we are delighted to be leading the way with William Hill in this space,” said Knights President Kerry Bubolz."

Sports book coming to New Mexico casino
Sports wagering is officially a thing in New Mexico.
Or, at least it will be on Oct. 16, when Santa Ana Star Casino & Hotel opens the state’s first legal sports book.
The announcement came Tuesday morning when Las Vegas, Nev.-based company USBookmaking said it has partnered with Santa Ana Pueblo to install a full-service sports book that will allow gamblers to bet on everything from the NFL and NASCAR to college sports and even minor league baseball.
“There will be action taken on the colleges, so the University of New Mexico, New Mexico State — those will be available to wager,” said John Salerno, director of operations for USBookmaking.
About the only thing people won’t be able to bet on is high school events. Everything else, he said, is fair game.
“You can get the same thing there as you would at any Las Vegas sports book,” Salerno said, adding his company has been working with Santa Ana to train the staff on how to write tickets, take wagers and pay off winners.
Officials from Santa Ana Pueblo, near Bernalillo, could not be reached for comment.

I searched for the forum topic: Recommended Gambling Books. So maybe moderators can move this post to appropriate section if desired.
I recently read Billy Walters (Famed sports betting legend) new book: Gambler Secrets from a Life at Risk.
Though much is geared towards sports gambling there are many other tips one can generalize to other types of gambling.

Reflect on how many games have you witnessed score-changing
"Minor Infractions" like JUMPING OFF SIDE or W H A T E V E R ?.
Do you think SPORTS BOOKS ever allow wagers
on OFF Side Penalties
in or near THE RED ZONE ?

My preference would have been to select four numbers (four highest-bias numerals), with a trigger to commence and a trigger to stop(Though in his situation it was a wheel flaw), so not just a short term aberration of outcomes.
I dont recall if he stated how much bias presented for each number. Im guessing the bias was large enough on each number that it warranted a wager on all five. Plus the bias was (mechanical) and static, so it appears he wagered continuously/with a large enough buyin to endure the Variance.
Your thoughts??

Hi r_ventura_23
I'm anxious to hear your synopsis when ur finished reading the book.
I've read it once and going back through reviewing the highlights. Its well worth the $25 dollar cost for the book.

According to Walters ,
Mr. Wynn got VERY Discombobulated.
His J's were T EED!
( AS IN A MAJOR CASE OF TIGHT JAWS)
$3.8 M busted up their bro-ship
It took another pal in a High Place with LOTS of INFLUENCE to set Walters loose of his Tight Quarters.
Fortunately, Mr Billy refrained from saying "Wynn, WYNN, WYNN ...PAY, PAY.PAY" !!!!
just me saying

I will put my moderator hat back on for a moment, and point out that if you scroll down this sub-forum's list of topics, you'll see many discussions on other games, including betting sports. Some have more than 30,000 views....
As for Sports betting, there is John Patrick's classic book, as well as "my go to": Sharp Sports Betting by our friend Stanford Wong. This book was WAAAAAY ahead of its time and Wong's analytics on teasers made the sportsbooks change their game and payouts - that should tell you it is worth a read. Google "Wong Teasers" for the short summary, read the book for the long view. One note... Stanford wrote it before the NFL started to allow for the two point conversion which changes some of the math for Totals. Regardless the thinking is sound, DN8R
